I know I may be just a teeny bit biased, but I truly do believe that Frisco is home to some of the best coffee shops in North Texas. From cozy shops that invite you to sit awhile and catch up with a friend over a beautiful latte to great patios for sipping an iced coffee in the hot summer sun, we’ve got them all.
Trust me, I’ve frequented pretty much all of them.
Yet despite the fact that we’ve already been blessed with some of the best java joints around, lately there’s been a new wave of hip, fun, and wonderful new coffee shops popping up perfect for getting your caffeine fix on. I’m beginning to wonder if our surrounding cities are getting jealous.
No matter where you live or what North Texas zip code you call your own, these new spots are all an easy hike and well worth the trip to check out. And because we love you, Frisco, we’ve decided to do the hard work of checking them all out in advance just for you. It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it to save you the trouble.
So go on, Frisco. Be sure to drop us a line to let us know which ones you’ve tried. We love to see you enjoying our great city, one sip at a time.
Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea
This Michigan-based coffee and tea shop with a local franchisee owner, is a gorgeous open space perfect for grabbing a cup of your favorite joe, settling in, and dreaming. The walls are covered in a rotating display of gorgeous art spotlighting local artists and the vibe is mellow and relaxed. Their baked goods are decadent (you won’t find any diet-friendly goods in this bakery case) but the real highlight for this foodie is the beautiful selection of teas, hand-scooped and brewed up in adorable, eclectic little teapots.
And yes, while the zip code for Sweetwater is technically Little Elm, once you visit this new shop you’ll see why we had to include it in this list. It’s picture-perfect for an afternoon writing session or just a relaxing meet up with a friend. It’s a great addition to our coffee shop inventory and well worth the trip outside of Frisco’s borders.
Renew Coffee ‘n Bakery
This downtown Frisco spot might win the award for the cutest decor (though the competition is tough). With cozy chairs, comfortable banquettes, and quirky decor it’s a great place to grab a quick coffee and chat with a friend or to stop in to do some heavy-duty caffeine-filled dreaming. The Spanish latte might just be my favorite drink on the menu. Lightly sweetened yet not overly so, this unique latte won over this black coffee drinker in an instant.
Situated right in the heart of picturesque downtown on Coleman Street, it’s the perfect spot to grab a cup and stroll around the Library grounds, visit the National Soccer Hall of Fame or just take in the beauty of downtown. Next time you’re down that way, be sure to stop in and try it out; the folks at Renew are kind, friendly and are excited to serve you.
Lemma Coffee
Featuring Craft Coffee and Delicious Food, the newest coffee shop to open its doors in Frisco is a great one. They roast and ship their own coffee nationwide, so you know when you’re sipping on your Lemma Latte (which is delicious, by the way) you’re getting the real deal. With fun and kitschy names like the Cousin Eddie (eggnog), Bees Knees (honey and lavender) and Elvis Toast (Peanut butter and banana), it’s clear that they don’t take themselves too seriously yet somehow manage to be both funny with their names, yet dead serious about their brews at the same time.
Lemma might also win the award for greatest latte art, too, prepare yourself to be wowed at your cup. Trust this want-to-be home barista, that is a lot harder than it seems. They’ve only been open a few weeks so be sure to run by and give this new-to-Frisco spot a try.
La Finca Roasters
The Rail District’s addition to the coffee shop game, La Finca is a Coffee Roastery, Bakery and Coffee Bar combined into a beautiful space in downtown Frisco’s newest hot spot development. A small batch roaster, La Finca is finicky about their beans.
And while they put every ounce of heart and soul into their brews, we are the ones who benefit because their coffee is smooth and amazingly delicious. With espressos, lattes and cappuccinos that will knock your socks off and bakery goods that are a sweet treat perfect for mid-morning pick-me-up or an afternoon indulgence, La Finca is sure to be a downtown Frisco coffee mainstay.
Did we miss your new favorite? Let us know. We’re always on the lookout for the best new spots to grab a bite or a sip.
