Forget what you think you know about the typical community rec center. Frisco Athletic Center is 100,000 square feet of gut-busting awesomeness! Covering everything from general fitness to sports leagues, kids birthday parties, and aquatic activities.
Having opened in 2008, the building is modern, beautifully constructed, and well-maintained.

Features
Fitness Area
The central feature of the Frisco Athletic Center is the 22,000 sq ft fitness area which has everything you could want in a gym. It’s bigger than most facilities I’ve seen. Even during busy times there is enough equipment that you almost never have to wait.
Studio Classrooms
Just off of the fitness area there are studio classrooms for group exercises like Spin, Pilates, Kickboxing, Yoga, etc. See the full group class schedule.
Personal Training
You can also hire certified personal trainers who work at the center. Whether you’re looking for a fitness assessment, body composition analysis, to develop a customized fitness program or to help with regular workouts.
Aquatic Center
The facility has an indoor/outdoor aquatic center with a number of water features. The indoor aquatic center has warm water pools, children’s play area, a current channel vortex, lap lanes and a large water slide. The outdoor area, open during pool season (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend), includes two water slides, a lazy river, lagoon pool and children’s play area.
Gymnasiums & Racquetball
There are two full sized gyms for basketball, volleyball and other activities with leagues going on through out the year. Just off of one of the gym’s are two racquet ball courts which can also be used for walleyball. You’ll want to book them out in advance to make sure you get your time.
Day Care & Youth Area
Fun Cub (i.e. day care) means you can drop the little ones off while you get your sweat on. Fun club is for kids 8 weeks – 7 years old. Kids can be dropped off once a day for up to two hours and only as long as parents are at the facility.
Reservations are not required but are recommended and can be made up to two days in advance in person or by calling 972-292-6600 during regular business hours. Don’t bother leaving a voice mail reservation, they don’t take em’ that way.
Fun Club hours are:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 8:00pm
- Closed from 2:30pm – 3:00pm for cleaning
- Friday & Saturday: 8:00am – 4:00pm

There is also the Youth Zone for kids 8 – 12 with pool tables, foosball tables, shuffle board, air hockey, a TV, Wii and lounge. Monday through Saturday the area is supervised so you can feel good about dropping your kids off while you work out. There is no Supervision on Sunday’s in the Youth Zone but parents are encouraged to come in and hang out with their kids. Kids under 12 must be accompanied.
Youth Zone hours are:
Monday – Thursday: 4:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Sunday -Family Fun Day 11:00am – 6:00pm
