Keep up with the action all season long: 2014 Frisco High School Football Schedules and Results

Now that Frisco ISD‘s top two football teams have faced each other, there is an undisputed (and undefeated) face atop the District 9-5A standings…

W Frisco Heritage (5-1, 3-1) @ Frisco Independence (1-5, 0-5)—59-34

The Knight’s sophomore QB, Kyle Saddler, was impressive but his defense had no answer for a relentless Coyotes club that compiled 522 yards of total offense en route to a season-high 59 points.

Despite the four-possession loss, there is no doubt that the Independence Knights are headed in the right direction, as Saddler was 21-for-32 for 304 yards and 4 TDs. Knights RB/WO Brandon Williams had a big night as well with 148 total yards and a TD. WR Maxwell Hudson (56 yds, 2 TDs) was another plus for the Knights.

For the Coyotes, it was familiar face Malik Walker that led Heritage to the high-scoring win. Walker threw for 137 yards with 2 TDs, and added another score on the ground via a one-yard run in the second quarter. RBs Kene Nwangwu, Amare Jones, and D’Vaughn Harris combined for 317 yards and 4 TDs.

W Frisco Centennial (4-2, 4-0) @ Frisco Lone Star (5-2, 3-2)—35-30

The Titans dealt the reeling Rangers their second-straight loss, as Centennial further cemented their place atop District 9-5A. The narrative for this game should begin and end with the fleet feet of Centennial’s Anthony Pegues.

The diminutive RB toted the rock 37 times for a whopping 306 rushing yards, along with 3 TDs. QB Court Walker tossed 168 yards with 2 TDS, and Devin McCord grabbed 7 passes for 86 yards and a score.

Lone Star was led by QB Jason Shelley (236 total yards, 2 TDs) and RB/WR Jordan Jones (112 total yards, TD). The Titans’ Pegues is now just two yards shy of hitting the century mark, for the first time in his career.

W Frisco Wakeland (5-1, 3-1) VS. The Colony (4-2, 2-3)—13-12

The Colony Cougars’ much ballyhooed defense managed to keep the Wolverines offense off-kilter for much of the game, but a late Wakeland TD pass allowed in the fourth quarter sealed their fate.

The Cougars’ Khalil Banks was a one-man show, with 127 yards rushing and 2 TDs. However, he was kept off the board entirely in the fourth quarter. The Wolverines’ Brent Altieri compiled 66 yds on the ground, with one TD. WR/LB Justice Williams hauled in three passes for 76 yards. QB Noah Anderson was perfect 2-for-2 with a fourth quarter TD that proved to be the game winner.

W Frisco Liberty (3-3, 2-2) VS. Little Elm (1-6, 1-4)—26-15

Despite an electrifying Udgam Goyal 91-yard TD pass to WR Lyric Green in the first quarter, the RedHawks found themselves trailing the Lobos at halftime, 6-13. The RedHawks didn’t panic, not even when they were down 15-12 heading into the final quarter.

Led by QB Goyal (202 total yards, 2 TDs), Liberty reeled off two quick scores to solidify the lead and walk away with the win. RBs Reggie Hubbard and Darrell Reese combined for 108 yard and 2 TDs, with aforementioned Green leading all receivers with 91 yards.

L Frisco Legacy Christian (3-3, 0-3) VS. Dallas Christian (4-2, 2-1)—20-34

The TAPPS 2-II growing pains continue for the Eagles of Legacy Christian, as they have dropped their third-straight game—all in district play.

Despite leading 13-0 over Dallas Christian at halftime, and 20-14 heading into the fourth quarter, Legacy couldn’t withstand a furious Chargers rally as they rolled to 20 unanswered points.

Chase Eisenmann (122 yds) and Chase Moake (81 yds, TD) led the show on the ground for the Eagles, but Chargers RB Tylor Cook (173 yds, 2 TDs) proved too much to handle as he rumbled for 89 yards and two cores in the second half alone.
