Frisconians young and old, get ready for sounds of music to again permeate through Lincoln Experience Center at The Star! Frisco Association for the Arts keeps pushing the envelope when it comes to the world-class art and entertainment with their next iteration of the Red Carpet Concert Series.
On May 1, 2019, Frisco Arts will present the talented singers of the UNT Opera program, directed by Jonathan Eaton, who is the Margot and Bill Winspear Chair in Opera Studies at UNT. The program will include an operatic twist on the timeless music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Eaton has directed widely in opera houses throughout North America and Europe, and his work with the New York City Opera was televised for nationwide broadcast on Great Performances: Live from Lincoln Center. We asked him about the strengthening partnership between UNT and Frisco Arts, and to tell us more about this event:
With UNT developing its activities in Frisco, we’re delighted to partner with the foremost arts organization in the city. Frisco Arts is a model for generating interest and activity in the arts – it is enterprising, broad-ranging, and embraces world-class cultural events – and so it’s an honor and a pleasure to collaborate with Frisco Arts on this unique Rodgers and Hammerstein project. UNT Opera is the first and only group to have been given permission by the R & H Organization to weave R & H songs into a brand new dramatic story – so Frisco Arts audiences will get the chance to experience something of a world premiere music drama: vintage wine in new bottles!
Speaking of wine, the evening will actually kick off at Zaytinya at The Star at 6:00 pm with wine and hors d’ oeuvres, before the doors to the LEC open at 7:00 pm. The performance is scheduled to take place from 7:30 to 8:30 pm after which the guests can mingle and indulge in some dessert treats.

As is often the case at Lincoln Experience Center, everywhere you look there will be stunning visual art, this time provided by the local award-winning artist, Teresa Krieger. She was a featured artist at the Mayor’s Office in October 2018, and she’s excited to be a part of the Red Carpet Concert. She shared,
I’m honored to be asked to exhibit my art. From the perspective of someone who first came to Frisco over twenty years ago, the changes in the Arts have been revolutionary. These changes are due to the efforts of an exceptional group of people. These people are convinced that art is not just nice to have, but an integral part of a great city.
The VIP Tickets for this unique event are $100 each and can be purchased here. As always Frisco Arts members receive a 15% discount, making the year-round membership one of the best values around. The guests will also enjoy the convenience of complimentary valet; that way, their sole focus can be on enjoying another amazing evening of art and community.
