Today, Lifestyle Frisco, Frisco’s leading digital media platform serving as a one-stop-shop for “What to do, where to go, and who to know” in Frisco, Texas, set the stage for the second year of Give For Frisco Day on February 14th, 2020.

Launched alongside Mayor Jeff Cheney in 2019, the 24-hour giving campaign on Valentine’s Day demonstrates that Frisco is a city with a very big heart for nonprofits making an impact in the community. The Frisco-based technology company Code Authority is generously sponsoring this year’s campaign, under the leadership of President, Jason W. Taylor. Wendi McGowan-Ellis, CEO & Co-founder of Lifestyle Frisco, shared,

Lifestyle Frisco is so proud to offer a free platform that supports, promotes and elevates the organizations that selflessly serve our city. We are grateful for the partnership of Mayor Cheney and Jason Taylor at Code Authority, who are true examples of leaders in our community that ‘walk the walk’. Together, we challenge our neighbors to show their love for Frisco on Valentine’s Day to reach our $50,000 goal.

Give For Frisco is All About the Love This Valentine’s Day

Give For Frisco Day is simple:  On February 14th, 2020, go online to GiveForFrisco.com and discover nonprofit organizations making an impact in the areas you are most passionate about. The website allows visitors to search by focus area, from animals to youth and everything in between.

Then, show your love by clicking “Donate” and make a suggested financial contribution of $14, $140, or $1,400 to one or more charities of your choice on Valentine’s Day. Online contributions occur on the website of the selected nonprofit, which means that 100% of your donated dollars go directly to the charity.

“Give For Frisco gets to the heart of our city. Our residents and businesses are attracted to Frisco for the values we represent, and one of them is helping others in need. Our residents and businesses have that common bond of generously supporting nonprofits,” commented Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney. “It is no surprise to me that one of the happiest and fastest-growing cities in the country commits to giving. On Valentine’s Day, please join me in sharing that spirit with the many organizations serving our city.”

In its inaugural year, Give For Frisco raised $10,000 benefiting 40 nonprofit organizations. In its second year, Give For Frisco is upping the ante… setting a goal of raising a minimum of $50,000 to benefit 100 nonprofit organizations. In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’re encouraging you to give $14, $140, or $1,400 anytime during the 24-hour giving campaign.

Jason W. Taylor, President at Code Authority and Co-founder of the nonprofit, Mankind, commented,

Frisco is an amazing city. There are so many reasons why I chose to live and build my business here, and I can see no better way to invest in my home than supporting the work that these incredible organizations are doing to impact and serve our city. Give For Frisco is a perfect opportunity for all of us to show the best of us, for the benefit of all of us.

Give For Frisco will strengthen connections between the citizens of Frisco and the nonprofits who serve them by providing the same services and promotions Lifestyle Frisco offers to paying business clients.

It is because of our business clients that this initiative is possible and we’re grateful to each and every one of them. Nicole Bursey, Executive Director, Frisco Family Services, shared,

The mission of Give For Frisco is so critical to organizations like ours, who provide critical support to families in the midst of crisis situations. Through community support and awareness, we are able to serve more of our neighbors and offer stability during difficult life situations. We are grateful for the generosity of our community, and the platform Give For Frisco provides.

UPDATE: On February 4, 2020, Mayor Jeff Cheney delivered an official Proclamation that every year in Frisco, February 14 will be recognized as Give For Frisco Day. Watch below.
