For nearly 20 years, the Frisco School of Music and Performing Arts has joyfully introduced Frisco children to the arts with programs that both teach and inspire. The school combines top professional instructors and time-honored methods with inventive and creative experiences.
The result is a program where kids learn, have fun, gain confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the arts.
Chris Duncan, Owner and Executive Director of FSMPA, opened the school in 2000 with a heart to help kids discover all that music and performing arts has to offer. In this episode of the Frisco Podcast, she shares her own journey, from the early years of begging her parents to let her quit piano lessons, to her own season as a parent looking for consistently available, quality instruction for her son.
She shares about their unique and prestigious Musical Arts Schoolhouse preschool and Kindergarten program, as well as the opportunity for older students to try new things as they discover what inspires them the most.
Whether her students go on to become famous jazz musicians, or they move on to other interests, Chris Duncan believes in the value of arts education from an early age.
