There’s no shortage of festive holiday productions in the North Texas area and we’re fortunate to have many options right here in Frisco! From holiday classics to brand new original works, we’ve highlighted a few of the must-see shows for you that are close to home!
Mark your calendar and set aside time for a couple of these performances. Taking in a festive show is a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Tickets sell out quickly, so don’t hesitate – buy quick and get ready to soak in everything about the season.
Cowboys Christmas Spectacular
Every Friday and Saturday night beginning November 22 through December 21, 6:00 pm at The Star in Frisco
Frisco can always count on The Star for great entertainment and the holiday season is no exception. It won’t be hard to find – just look for the big tree on the Tostitos Championship Plaza. The Christmas Spectacular is a free, 20-minute show that electrifies – featuring the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Rhythm and Blues Dancers and Drumline, Rowdy, and guest appearances by Santa and former Dallas Cowboys players.
Christmas in the Square
November 29 – December 31, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Frisco Square
Returning for its 15th year, don’t miss the largest choreographed holiday lights and music show in North Texas. It will be full of established favorites and new surprises. Christmas in the Square draws over 750,000 visitors annually. This show is free to the public. Don’t miss other a la cart activities on-site, such as Skate the Square, Visits with Santa, a tree maze, and horse carriage rides.
A Very Polka Christmas
Saturday, November 30, 7:30 pm at Frisco High School
Presented by the Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra. Join the festivities and the spirit of giving with this Talented Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra collaborating with the Grammy Award Winning Polka Band, Brave Combo.
Sugar Plum Fairy Tea
December 1 and December 5 at 3:00 pm at Westin Stonebriar Resort Hotel in Frisco
Presented by the Collin County Ballet Theatre. Sit down for an experience of delectable treats, hot chocolate, tea, a Nutcracker storytime, and a mini Nutcracker performance. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet characters from the Nutcracker show and take pictures. Tickets may be purchased here but don’t delay one moment because they will sell out.
North Pole’s Got Talent
December 12 – 15, Willow Bend Center of the Arts.
Presented by NTPA-Plano. It’s just days before Christmas at Santa’s Workshop, and there’s still lots of work to be done — like getting the elves and reindeer in the proper holiday spirit with song, dance, and big belly laughs!
Scrooge! The Musical
December 12 – December 22, The Courtyard Theater and Willow Bend Center of the Arts.
Presented by NTPA-Repertory. This Plano Christmas Tradition features a fast-paced and fun full-length live musical production, visits from Santa Claus, Pre-show Christmas Carols, special Christmas Treats, and MUCH MORE!
Seasonal Sounds Christmas Concert
Saturday, December 13, 7:30 pm, Grace Avenue United Methodist Church
The Frisco Chorale’s annual holiday tradition, enjoy festive favorites and carols as they deck the hall with choral cheer.
The Nutcracker
Sunday, December 14, 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm at Lebanon Trail High School.
The Frisco Ballet has a longstanding tradition of presenting The Nutcracker right here in Frisco and it never fails to impress. Buy your tickets right away!
Frisco’s Fab-YULE-us Christmas Concert
Saturday, December 14, 7:00 pm at Grace Church Frisco.
Presented by the Frisco Youth Symphony Orchestra. Anyone who loves to sing along to Christmas songs is invited to the Fab-YULE-us concert just in time for the holidays. There’s no way you will leave this concert a scrooge, warm up those pipes and get your tickets!
Christmas with the Phantom
Thursday, December 19 at 7 pm at Frisco Hall.
Come and celebrate Christmas with Broadway star and former Phantom of the Opera, David Gaschen. David will perform a variety of your favorite Christmas songs to brighten your holiday season. Come out and have an unforgettable evening of music! This concert benefits the North Texas Community Giving Foundation which helps nonprofits in North Texas. Seats are limited and sold out last year so purchase now!
Charlie Brown Christmas
December 20 at 5:30 pm and December 21 at 1:30 and 5:30 at the Frisco Discovery Center’s Black Box Theater.
The Prosper Community Theatre will present the holiday classic, right in Frisco for only $5. Their mission is to spread the joy of live theatre and the community looks forward to sharing in this joy this holiday season.
Winter Concert
Friday, December 20, 7:30 pm at the Frisco Discovery Center’s Black Box Theater.
Join Astraios Chamber Music as they present music that celebrates winter and the solstice. The performance will also include demonstrations of traditional Celtic dances!
Christmas at The Cathedral
December 21-22, 7:00 pm at Elevate Life Church.
A free, family-friendly production designed with you in mind! Many exciting elements including singing, acting, dancing, music and more. Following the production, Elevate Life Church’s Lead Pastor, Keith Craft will also be sharing a special message to remind us of the reason for the season. In addition to the visually stunning show, enjoy a “larger than life” 36-foot Christmas tree in the lobby, perfect for photos. Santa Claus will be in attendance, joined by a gingerbread man, and hot cocoa in the lobby following each production.
The Nutcracker
Saturday, December 21 at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm at Centennial High School.
Presented by the Collin County Ballet Theatre. The Nutcracker is a time-honored family holiday tradition. Join Clara as she enters a dream world set in motion by the magical nutcracker doll given to her by her Uncle Drosselmeyer. Spread the joy of the season by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County
