How to Serve the Community You Serve

October 25, 2019 by Ellen Zarate

It comes down to how you define success. To Bryan Linder, success means showing gratitude for the blessings in his life by returning to the community. Taught from a young age that one of the most important things in life is giving back, Linder built service into the foundation of Linder Legacy Group.

You can learn a lot about a business by finding out what its leaders stand for…

Some choices of the causes Bryan Linder focuses on were easy. That’s because of life experiences that were hard. In 2007, Bryan’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to early detection and an amazing medical team, she is a survivor. Bryan wants more families to share that joy.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and an All My Sons “Pink Truck” are the organizations Linder Legacy Group works with on this front. Bronwyn Osburn, who spearheads women’s empowerment efforts,  says,

We love that NBCF helps women now! We were excited that NBCF was local to us in North Dallas but helps nation-wide, just like Legacy Group’s associates.

The Pink Truck is another story. At the start of 2019, Bryan and Bronwyn were planning their “Who Runs the World” event; a night celebrating women, when they met Jameson Olsen from All My Sons moving and storage.

Linder Legacy Group 2After sharing their collective support of the fight against breast cancer, Jameson told Bryan and Bronwyn about the program. Sponsored Pink Trucks are named after and dedicated to individual survivors.

Additionally, the program raises money to fight breast cancer.

The first Pink Truck in Dallas was sponsored by Bryan’s dad Jack along with Linder Legacy Group. Naturally, it bears Bryan’s mom’s name, Linda. As the matriarch of a family with four kids and 19 grandkids, Linda’s successful battle has inspired all.

Women Who Inspire

Strong women are a huge part of the Linder Legacy Group brand. When he met Bronwyn, Bryan was impressed with this single mother who immigrated to the US to raise her kids–with no other family here. Bronwyn was a natural and immediate fit for the organization.

Through the years, Bryan has seen female family members go through life and its trials. There have been marriages and divorces, single moms and tragic miscarriages. He has also known women who endured abuse and women who built businesses. Knowing people in those circumstances is common. Becoming an advocate is uncommon.

Over the past few years, Linder Legacy Group has given back to Make-A-Wish, National Breast Cancer Foundation, special needs, the military, and those seeking to cure blindness, just to name a few. But that’s just the start. Bryan explains,

Linder Legacy Group is a crusade-driving company and giving back to the community is a large part of that.

The Business of Giving Back

It was 3:00 in the morning when Bryan had the idea. He and Bronwyn wanted to give back to the community and bring women together yearly for love, fun, laughter, stories, and support. Of course, Bryan and Bronwyn brought the dream to life. Now Linder Legacy Group runs an annual women’s event, “Who Runs the World.”

Linder Legacy golf tournamentThis October was a new level in giving. They hosted the inaugural Linder Legacy Group Golf Tourney.

The Linder family owns and runs a therapeutic riding facility for people with special needs and Wounded Warriors.

Connections Therapeutic Riding Center was born from the passion of Bryan’s father, Jack. This cause hits close to the family’s heart as Bryan’s sister has two adopted children with special needs. The thousand-acre ranch in Lampasas, Texas strives to serve as many people as possible.

The $10,0oo proceeds from the golf tournament in McKinney, which drew 70 golfers, will go a long way in helping those efforts. In the future, the plan is for the tournament to help fund a different charity each year.

Linder Legacy Group is a business built on helping others realize their potential and become their best selves. Clearly, it’s a powerful testimony that the team has such high standards and a commitment to community.

After all, it’s much easier to want to become like someone you admire than someone you don’t. For Bryan Linder and Linder Legacy Group, that’s how they define success.
