The recent MSM Middle School 7v7 Championships, presented by Scottish Rite for Children, delivered an action-packed weekend of competition, with Griffin Middle School’s Gators making waves across all grade levels.
🏆 6th Grade: Griffin Gators Shine in the “Griffin Bowl”
In an exciting matchup, two Griffin Middle School teams squared off in what parents affectionately dubbed the “Griffin Bowl.” The Gators showcased impressive talent, with one team securing a commanding 30-6 victory. Standout player Peter shared his excitement: “I loved playing in MSM and was happy to score two touchdowns!”

🏆 7th Grade: Griffin’s Strong Effort Against Defending Champions
The 7th-grade Gators fought their way to the championship game, where they faced a formidable challenge in Colleyville-Cross Timbers, the reigning champions. Despite a valiant effort, Griffin fell short, but their performance underscored the high level of competition and determination on display.
🏆 8th Grade: Frisco All-Stars Battle Against Argyle
A Frisco All-Stars team—featuring talented players from across the city—made an impressive run to the 8th-grade championship. Their journey culminated in a hard-fought battle against a dominant Argyle team. Though they fell short, the Frisco squad displayed resilience, teamwork, and the spirit of MSM’s mission.

A Weekend to Remember
The MSM 7v7 Championships weren’t just about competition—they were about energy, talent, and fun. Gavin Himel, MSM Dallas General Manager, summed it up best:
“I’ve managed a lot of MSM tournaments, but this 7v7 tourney’s vibe was electric. The talent was amazing to watch, and I love seeing these kids have such a great time. I’m excited to see these players make headlines in the future.”
Parents echoed this sentiment, with one sharing, “I have a 6th grader and a 7th grader that both played in MSM this past weekend, and they had a blast! When I asked them if they’d like to play in this tournament again, it was a resounding ‘YES’!”
Another parent added, “My son had a GREAT time at the MSM this weekend! It was fun to see the boys come together and play as a team representing their school for the first time. The event was very organized and a good time was had by all!”
