Now in the former space occupied by Mariana’s Taco Shop just off Main Street in downtown Frisco, there’s a new taco show in town… And, they’re ROCKIN’!
Rockin’ Taco has tacos, nachos, salads, burritos, bowls, quesadillas and chimichangas all with an interesting setup… the menu is orchestrated like a concert.
First, customers are asked to pick their “stage” – namely what they are going to order. Tacos can be ordered on corn or flour tortillas and can also come flat or crispy.
On my first visit, I tried the tacos and wasn’t disappointed. I got two with chicken and one with ground beef also with cheese, lettuce, and tomato on corn tortillas. Rockin’s tacos are $6.99 for an order of three or $2.99 each, and trust me they’re worth every penny.
That’s because Rockin’ Taco doesn’t skimp on meat or on any of its other ingredients making for a very tasty and filling taco. And, since they make their tacos right when you order, they put whatever meat their customers’ choose on the grill, so their order is both fresh and piping hot.
Rockin’s nachos come with pinto beans and queso. The Bangin’ Bowl features cilantro-lime rice and pinto beans. Flautas come in chicken, ground beef, or a combination of the two.
Salads are made of iceburg and romaine lettuces while Rockin’s burritos feature rice, beans, and queso. Their Cruzin’ Quesadilla consists of shredded cheese and Rockin’ Sauce.
On my second visit, I tried the Cruzin’ Quesadilla with just steak which costs $1.50 more, and grated cheese. Fantastic! Bigger than your average quesadilla, this entree was a hearty and tasty meal chock full of melty, cheesy goodness with plenty of steak.
But one of the more interesting menu items at Rockin’ Taco might be the Kickin’ High-Hat… A grilled item which consists of a tortilla wrapped around two tostada shells stuffed with a choice of meet and side item. And, finally, there’s the Crushin’ Chimichanga – a deep fried stuffed tortilla topped with queso and your choice of meat.
Customers are then asked to pick their “rock star” (their meat). Choices consist of chicken, carnitas, steak (at a small upcharge), brisket, and ground beef. Double meat is also available.
Choosing “backup singers” is the next order of business. Toppings include lettuce, pico de gallo, onions, tomatoes, shredded cheese, cilantro, salsa, black bean and corn salsa, sour cream, and jalapenos. Guacamole and queso are also available for a small upcharge.
Finally, customers are asked to choose their “groupies” (their side items). Chips and salsa, which comes in mild, hot and blazin’ varieties, chips and queso, or chips and guacamole plus sides of rice, beans, or both.
Rockin’ Taco also has the “Lil’ Rockstar” menu where young customers can order their choice of a taco, quesadilla, rollup or flautas with a side item.
We know that Frisco already has a number of delicious establishments that serve great tacos, but Rockin’ Taco can more than hold its own in our ultra-competitive market. So, if you’re near downtown Frisco and craving tacos, give them a shot.
Rockin’ Taco is sure to hit all the high notes and make you clamor for an encore!
