Josh Willingham brought more than just another fast-casual franchise to his hometown of Frisco when he and his wife Jaime opened Vitality Bowls on Eldorado Parkway in August. He brought a passion for healthy eating, excitement for building a thriving community, and entrepreneurial vision to a food scene often more often characterized by chains and cliches than unique options.
Vitality Bowls is a franchise dedicated to providing healthy menu options and catering to customers with a wide variety of unique dietary needs. When Josh began to explore avenues for exiting his 20-year career in banking management, he and Jaime quickly realized that their passion for great ingredients and Vitality Bowls’ corporate vision were a perfect match.
On August 10th of this year, Vitality Bowls’ doors opened in the Parkway Towne Crossing, southwest corner of Eldorado and the Tollway. It’s the fourth Vitality Bowls franchise in Texas. Josh says,
I hope that my excitement about fresh ingredients is evident to our customers. I love to educate our new consumers and the local community about food, sourcing, and health.”
The acai (ah-sigh-ee) bowls and smoothies are the foundation of the menu and an impressive rotation of superfoods, super-fruits, and traditional fruits that have been compiled into a tantalizing menu with ingredients like:
- Organic Açaí
- VB Blend
- Bananas
- Strawberries
- Flax Seed
- Organic Granola
- Honey
- Goji Berries
- Coconut Milk
- Apple Juice
- Mango
- Pineapple
- Kale
- Chia Seeds
- Mulberries
No fillers of any kind are used in Vitality Bowls’ smoothies or bowls – NOT EVEN ICE! Josh is adamant about avoiding artificial additives of any kind, sourcing healthy ingredients, and maintaining a menu that is as organic as it is delicious.
In addition to the trademark bowls and smoothies, the restaurant makes a variety of paninis and salads in-house, sells fresh kombucha probiotic tea, and is home to a lovely coffee bar where customers can purchase specialty super-food lattes and traditional espresso choices.
To top off their menu, Vitality Bowls chooses a bowl to highlight each month – November, of course, boasts a Pumpkin Bowl, Pumpkin Smoothie, and a Pumpkin Latte! (Want to keep up with the bowl of the month? Follow Vitality Bowls – Frisco on Facebook!)
Vitality Bowls is passionate about teaching the children in the community about healthy food choices and has already become involved in a number of local schools by providing food and promoting health at local health fairs and awareness events this fall.
Most recently, at Pink Elementary, Vitality Bowls turned out to provide fruit for children to educate and raise awareness about breast cancer. On Thursday, November 9th, Vitality Bowls will participate in Purefoy Elementary’s “2nd Annual Family Health Night.”
Vitality Bowls promises to bring new excitement to the Frisco fast-casual food scene. We’re just happy someone is finally teaching the rest of us how to properly pronounce acai! 😉
