Get ready to dust off your cowboy boots and polish those belt buckles, Frisco, because the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards is riding into town! On Thursday, May 8, 2025, Ford Center at The Star in Frisco will be the hottest spot this side of the Rio Grande. And guess who’s saddling up to host? None other than the legendary Reba McEntire, who’s wrangling her 16th ACM Award and lassoing her 18th time as master of ceremonies.
McEntire was in Frisco just a few months ago hosting the 2024 ACM Awards on the heels of Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks having done the same in 2023. We like this trend and hope to see the ACMs get comfortable here for years to come.
McEntire’s association with the Emmy-nominated awards show is legendary. Her exceptional talent, charisma, and unprecedented history with the show make her the perfect host for this milestone 60th anniversary. And, call us biased, but we think The Star in Frisco is the perfect venue for said milestone. Dining, hotels, and experiences galore set the stage for another spectacular evening in our fabulous city.
Which Country Music stars will be in town?
This is what you really want to know. We’re eager to hear the full line-up when that information is announced, but one thing is sure: Reba is sure to bring all of her best friends from the music biz.
The 59th ACM Awards set a high bar last year with its thrilling performances and star-studded collaborations. Highlights included dynamic performances from Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Post Malone, Parker McCollum, Thomas Rhett, and Lainey Wilson. Reba McEntire herself showcased new music, adding to the night’s excitement.
Memorable duets left an indelible mark on viewers worldwide. Chris Stapleton performed with surprise guest Dua Lipa, Kelsea Ballerini joined Noah Kahan, Blake Shelton paired with Gwen Stefani, and Nate Smith shared the stage with Avril Lavigne. Stapleton led the night with four awards while Lainey Wilson’s crowning achievement as Entertainer of the Year earned her the prestigious ACM Triple Crown trophy.
No one can forget Wilson’s performance of “God Blessed Texas” and “Hang Tight Honey” or Kane Brown’s soulful rendition of Ray Charles’ classic “Georgia on My Mind.” Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s performance of their new single “Purple Irises” confirmed again the powerful couple has undeniable chemistry.
How can you score a ticket?
Additional details, including award submissions and voting timeline, nominees, performers, ticket sale details, and additional ACM Awards week events will be confirmed in the months ahead. Stay tuned, and rest assured, if you don’t snag a seat to the live show, it will be streamed across the globe via Amazon Prime Video.
Frisco’s Appeal
If you’re new to the area, here’s a brief background on The Star in Frisco and Ford Center.
Simply referred to as “The Star” by local residents, it’s the 91-acre campus of the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and training facility in Frisco. Ford Center is a multi-purpose, 12,000-seat, indoor stadium as well as the entire Dallas Cowboys football operations and practice fields. The venue hosts local football games, concerts, and major sporting events.
Those who wish to see and be seen and have a good time head to The Star to enjoy a variety of shopping, dining, and nightlife options. It’s also home to the Omni Frisco Hotel, Cowboys Fit, and Cowboys Club, a members-only club where the country club meets the NFL.
