Melody of Hope’s Encore! Drive-In Music Festival is coming up soon. Friday, November 6, to be exact, at Verona Villa on the Northwest corner of Dallas North Tollway and Stonebrook Parkway in Frisco.
Apologies. That introduction was informative, yet bland. You deserve better. You deserve a more rocking introduction. You need an introduction that makes your hips do the string dance. You need an introduction that makes your legs argue whether to do the two-step or the running man.
Let’s do an encore and try this one more time for the people in the back row.
You know all of those times you’ve plugged your phone into your speaker system in your vehicle to shoulder dance to your favorite song? Well, what if you could just drive your car up to an awesome venue and listen to awesome live music to support an awesome cause without the need for a Bluetooth connection? Take that, Pandora.
Not so good news: Rick Springfield won’t be there. I know because I asked. Best news: the headliner is none other than Southlake’s own Abby Anderson!
Abby has opened for artists like Kelsea Ballerini, Billy Currington, Russell Dickerson, Brett Eldredge, and Rob Thomas. Abby has been booked for country’s largest music festivals like Stagecoach, Tortuga, and Country Thunder. And now she’s the headliner for your Melody of Hope Encore! Drive-In Music Festival.
Abby Anderson has been named to The Bobby Bones Show ‘Class of 2019’ and MusicRow’s ‘Next Big Thing for 2019’ among other accolades. After releasing her debut EP in 2018 and her hit single “Make Him Wait” Anderson earned over 80 million streams collectively and has caught the attention of fans nationwide. I’ve listened to her work, and her voice and sound are amazing.
That’s a little about Abby, but on top of that, in addition to many other acts that will be performing, two of Frisco’s own, Ron Bultongez and Grace Tyler, are set to perform.
Who needs Spotify in your car when you can drive up and listen to this line up of musicians?
That’s a rhetorical question. We all know the answer is “no one.” There are actually two ways to enjoy this show because it’s called Melody of Hope, not Melody of I’m Sorry But You Aren’t Allowed To Join Us.
Option 1 — In Person: Encore! will be an exciting event designed to allow a socially-distanced, in-person concert experience showcasing some of DFW’s finest hand-picked talent.
Option 2 — Watch the show live: For those unable to join live, in person, and in your vehicle, there will be a high-quality stream of the event, rich with opportunity to bring bands, brands, and fans closer than ever before.
There was going to be a third option where you could drive past my house as I played my unique acoustic covers of ABBA hits, but that idea was halted temporarily. By everyone.
Hope starts at home. Or in your car. Or via your laptop.
Check this link to find out more about the show, but more importantly, check out Melody of Hope online to learn more about them. They use the power of music to help with education, leadership, spirit, diversity and bridging the gap between the youth and multiple non-profits that can equally benefit from that connection.
Melody of Hope is a movement as much as it is music. In their own words, “Let the music bring hope.” And you can enjoy it from your vehicle on November 6 at Verona Villa at 6591 Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX, 75034, or stream it live from your computer or tablet.
Just don’t drive past my house looking for cover tunes. I’m still upset I wasn’t the third option. Well, and that Rick Springfield won’t be performing. But enough about that.
With everything going on, why not pile the family in the vehicle, take in the beautiful voice of Abby Anderson as well as 18 other local artists and bands, and do it all for entertainment in the name of a good cause? Bluetooth can wait when you can rock out in your car like a classic drive-in movie theatre. It’s all the rage now. You can be one of the cool kids.
Seriously, if you and your family are able, please try to join in person. Concerts are better that way. Melody of Hope is working to expand the MOH community in order to make as large of an impact for their partner businesses and non-profits as possible.
Thanks to their partnership with Verona Villa, Melody of Hope is ready to have an amazing night of music and fun, bolstered by local food trucks and vendors that will not be forgotten any time soon!
Join Melody of Hope on November 6th and band together in song and celebration to remind the world that Hope starts at home. Or in your car. Or truck. Or SUV. Or via your laptop.
Now practice your car seat dancing. It’s a new twist on an old classic.
