
Calling all artists who work with recycled or repurposed materials! The Frisco Art Gallery (inside the Frisco Discovery Center) is hosting a show featuring artworks that are “green” in terms of their production, process, or final object. The “Salvaged” exhibition runs April 2nd through May 3rd and is open to artists ages 15 and up.
If you adorn objects with trimmings from trash or make sculpture from scraps… Or, if you paint on recycled or repurposed paper or panels, then submit to this juried show in the Frisco Art Gallery. If you use non-toxic or otherwise all-natural products in your creations, your pieces are also eligible.
Entries:
- Artists may enter up to 8 entries for the show.
- Maximum size, including frame, is 60″ in any direction and the piece must be completely compatible for secure installation with the Arakawa Cable & Rail Hanging System.
- Pieces may be gallery-wrapped, framed, or mounted on Bristol board or other heavy weight matting
- Art must be ready to hang with wire installed approximately 1/3 of the way from top of frame on the back (NO saw-tooth hangers).
- Include placard on back of work including name, date, title, medium, size, and price.
- If submitting three-dimensional artwork, artist must be prepared to supply all installation apparatus. Frisco Arts has a limited number of pedestals available on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Molly Kinson, M. Ed., Environmental Education Coordinator, City of Frisco, Environmental Services Department;
- Martin Back, MFA in Studio Arts, emphasizing New Media and Music, from UNT;
- Karen Dodson, BFA, California State University, local Frisco artist/muralist
The deadline to enter, March 15, is coming fast, so eligible arts should email titled JPEGS of artwork to pprater (at) friscoarts (dot) org. The Entry Fee is $30 for adults and $18 for students. Drop-off to Frisco Art Gallery is March 31st between 4pm and 7pm.
The Frisco Art Gallery will hold an Artists Reception &Panel Discussion from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday, April 9th. After exhibition closes, artists will need to pick up their work on May 4th between 1p and 3pm.
