Frisco Events Weekend Round Up for Friday, October 18th

If you’re planning ahead Frisco Square is  holding their 3rd Annual “Trick or Treat the Square” on October 27th from 1-4PM.

This weekend is jam-packed in Frisco with Pumpkins on the Prairie, The Lonestar Storytelling Festival, Classic Corvettes, Children’s theater plan, High School Football, FC Dallas, the last day of the Frisco Farmers Market, Barktoberfest, golf Tournaments, Art Tours, and the symphony. Whew!

Friday, October 18th

Pumpkins on the Prairie is running through Halloween. Grace Avenue United Methodist Church, 3521 Main Street, Frisco, TX  75034 Mon – Fri  1PM – 8PM, Saturday 9AM – 8PM, Sunday 12PM – 8PM

LoneStar Storytelling Festival, Oct. 18th & 19th.  The 10th Annual Lone Star Storytelling Festival. Bring the family and be amazed at the power of the story performed by some of the nation’s best-loved tellers! www.lonestarstories.org

The National Corvette Restorers Society will host a Corvette show next weekend at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Frisco Convention Center. This year’s theme celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1963 Corvette. Nearly a dozen will be on display along with more than 70 Corvettes from other years. The show is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 and 19. Admission is $5 for adults. Children younger than 12 and military get in free. Proceeds will benefit Honor Flight for World War II veterans.

Attack of the Zombies! – Frisco Area Children’s Theatre, Oct. 18 & 19. See zombies versus students! The senior class students are throwing their annual party, with a zombie theme. Located in an old farmhouse formerly owned by crazy Dr. Thanatos, they come to realize that the zombies really are going to attend, shuffling out from the graveyard next door! Enjoy this classic horror style, spoofy comedy. Tickets $5-10, at-the-door, only. (more info)

FCDallas vs. Seattle Sounders at home in Toyota Stadium, Frisco, TX @ 1:30 PM  it’s fan appreciation day which will feature free pizza, player autographs, giveaways and more!

Last day of the Frisco Farmers Market, from 8am to 1pm or until supplies run out (and they often do).

P.E.A.R.L stands for Poised, Elegant, And Responsible Leaders. Encourage your girls, ages 3-13, to celebrate their natural beauty, build confidence, learn public speaking skills, enhance social skills, give back to the community, and have fun! The days activities include:

  • a complimentary Pre-pageant etiquette and self-esteem workshop
  • optional Pre-pageant coaching workshop
  • chance to win $100 prize

Barktoberfest 2013, 10/19/2013, Noon – 4:00 in Frisco Commons Park. The Frisco Humane Society presents the 8TH BARKTOBERFEST where animal lovers can have fun while helping us raise money to save the lives of homeless pets. There is no charge for admission to this fun event – bring the entire family and the dogs!

Frisco Ballet Annual Golf Tournament; 1:30pm to 5pm; Are you looking for a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, while giving back to a worthy cause? The Frisco Ballet invites you to participate in their annual golf tournament at Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club in Plano. The Frisco Ballet appreciates your support on Oct. 19 at Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club. Registration includes green fee, cart fee, GPS, range balls and a buffet dinner, as well as many prizes and awards. Included with your online registration is a 1-year subscription to Golf Digest (a $10 value).

ArtSeen Studio Tour; Oct. 19th 11am to 5pm & Oct. 20th 1pm to 5pm. This is your chance to tour the art studios of Frisco’s finest artists! Get a close-up view of how the artists work, ask them questions, and even add to your art collection!

PSO’s Family Symphony Sunday Series “PERCUSSION” in Black Box Theater and Frisco Art Gallery. Children ages 3-10 and their families are sure to enjoy the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s Frisco series of concerts and activities for learning about different sections of the orchestra.

Pre-concert activities, including an instrument “petting zoo” begin at 2:15PM in the Frisco Art Gallery. Each concert begins at 3PM in the Black Box Theater. General Admission: $7 To purchase tickets, call 972-473-7262 or go online to planosymphony.org.

Monday Oct 21

Independent Film Class at Frisco Discovery Center – 8004 N. Dallas Pkwy. Preview the Transformation Film Institute classes during an open house on October 9, from 4-6PM.
