Keep up with the action all season long: 2015 Frisco High School Football Schedules and Results

W Lone Star (6-0, 4-0) VS The Colony (2-4, 2-2)—56-28

Coming into Week 6, The Colony Cougars had scored 70 points in two of their previous three contests.   Frisco Lone Star’s defense came up huge from the get go, allowing just two first-half scores from The Colony, as the Rangers headed into halftime with a 35-14 advantage.

All told, the Rangers allowed just 144 total yards of offense from the Cougars, and put up 420 yards of offense, led by QB Jason Shelley’s 158 yards rushing, and 120 yards passing. The only chink in Shelley’s armor was a third quarter INT that by Kendrick Johnson that returned for a pick-6.

Shelley accounted for six touchdowns, and RB Robert Hall (113 yds) added two more. The Colony’s running back, Khalil Banks (126 yds, TD) accounted for almost all of the Cougars’ offensive effort.

Up Next: @ Centennial (4-1, 3-0)

W Centennial (4-1, 3-0) @ Independence (2-4, 1-3)—48-41

A furious second half rally by the Independence Knights came up just short, thanks in large part to the Titans strong start.

Up 17-0 heading into the second quarter, it appeared as though the rout might be on for Centennial. But the Knights managed to keep it somewhat reasonable, as they headed into halftime, down 38-13.

Once again, Centennial seemed to have the game on lockdown entering the final quarter, up 48-20; but Independence roared back with 21 unanswered points, turning this affair into a one possession.

But the Centennial defense squelched the rally and held kept the Knights off the board in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. The Titans received yet another huge night from Anthony Pegues, as he rushed for 295 yards and a score.

The Knights got breakout performance from QB Kyle Saddler, as he threw for a whopping 534 yards and three TDs, leading the Knights to a school-record 627 yards of total offense.

Up Next (Centennial): VS Lone Star (6-0, 4-0)

Up Next (Independence): @ Heritage (2-3, 0-3)

W Wakeland (3-2, 2-1) VS Little Elm (0-6, 0-4)—21-7

The Wakeland Wolverines won their third game in four weeks, as they took advantage of an anemic Little Elm Lobos squad still searching for their first win on the season.

The Wolverines put up 14 points in the first quarter then hit cruise control, scoring just once more, while allowing only a fourth quarter Little Elm touchdown. RB Jay Orji (167 yds, 2 TDs) scored two of the three TDs, with WR Charles Robinson (79 yds, TD) also finding the end zone for Wakeland.

Up Next: @ The Colony (2-4, 2-2)

W Frisco (5-1, 3-1) @ Heritage (2-3, 0-3)—47-35

Heritage Coyotes’ QB Amare Jones threw for 338 yards and four TDs—and rushed for another 104—but it wasn’t enough to stop the relentless running of the Raccoons’ Idrees Ali. Frisco’s premier rusher, and leader in rushing yards for 5A, had a night for the ages, as he toted the rock 40 times for 338 yards and 5 TDs.

Coyotes WR Bubba Ogbebor (246 yds, 3 TDs) couldn’t be stopped, as he averaged a ridiculous 35.1 yards per catch. However, in the end, this slugfest went the way of the Raccoons as their running game ultimately hammered the Coyotes’ defense into submission.

Up Next (Frisco): BYE

Up Next (Heritage): VS Independence (2-4, 1-3)

W Legacy Christian (4-1, 1-1) VS Tyler All Saints (2-3, 0-2)—34-10

The Legacy Christian Eagles notched their first-ever TAPPS 2-II win in impressive fashion last Friday, as they once again paced by star RB Chase Eisenmann (158 yds).

With the running game drawing most of Tyler All Saints’ attention, QB Ethan McKasson was able to find Holt Kelley for a 44-yard TD in the second quarter that gave the Eagles a 14-0 lead, that would prove to be enough.

The aforementioned Eisenmann got the Legacy scoring started as he threw a TD pass on an option read to Braden Petty for a 22 yard TD.

Up Next: @ Dallas Christian (4-1, 2-0)
