On Friday, July 31, the gallery8680 will open its doors at 7pm for an art exhibition entitled “Identity” with a goal to display how artists represent the condition of being oneself. Creative Director, Robin Parker Feehan, has distributed an open call for artists to submit work for this show.
Artists are free to consider all mediums, however the work must be the artists’ original interpretation of “Identity” as Robin’s desire is to create a gallery space for emerging artists of a visionary nature.
Whether self-taught or raised within the disciplines of art, gallery8680 believes that the essence of true artistic expression comes from an earnest desire to say something. Robin and her team support and promote the artist by marketing the exhibition and sale of art to the general public and the local art population, while also creating a hub for an emerging art community in Frisco.
All artists are encouraged to submit work for consideration of this upcoming curated exhibit. However, not all work submitted will be exhibited as it is the gallery’s preference to only exhibit original pieces of the highest caliber.
To submit work:
Email 1>3<5 images in 300dpi digital format. Please keep files well organized and manageable. List the size, media and description of works. An artist statement is required with the submission. All submissions should be in .jpg format. No cloud, web pages, or Dropbox submissions.
Fee:
Submission of 1>3 $12; > 3 $5 for each piece
To meet gallery requirements:
All submissions must be ready to hang with secure, bound wiring that does not stretch to eventually appearing above the work. The hanging apparatus attached must support the weight of the piece. One-inch to two-inch stretcher frames are acceptable. Edges of artwork should be cleaned, painted, or finished in some manner if not framed. Saw hook hanging is not acceptable.
