Have the phone calls (or text messages) started yet?….“What will I get little Hannah and Johnny for Christmas?” from family and friends far away that want to shower your little ones with gifts to make up for not being close this time of year? Not only will you end up with even more toys in your house, but postage costs are crazy right now, and not all grandparents have mastered the art of online shopping.
Why not take the stress out of it and encourage them to buy tickets for one of the upcoming events in Frisco? A day or evening out where you can say “Grandma/Auntie/Cousin treated you to this” while supporting the Frisco community. All of these events provide photo opportunities which you can send back showing them the result of their kindness.
Here are some suggestions……
Breakfast with Santa- Dec. 7th
This is such a well organized, relaxed, and fun event. I attended with my 2 girls last year (then 4 mths and 5 years). The Frisco Senior Centre hosts a delicious buffet breakfast for all the family, and of course, their special guest Santa attends. There are also lots of crafts for the kids and photo opportunities with Rudolf and Frosty the Snowman too.
Frisco Senior Centre, 6670 Moore Street. There are 3 sittings to choose from that morning. Tickets available to buy in person. Be quick though, they sell fast!
Skate the Square- Nov. 29th to Jan. 4th
The return of Skate the Square, an outdoor real ice skating rink will be available November 29th through January 4th, 2014. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday Noon to 10 p.m. except on Christmas Day and weather permitting. The ice skating cost is $10 per person, per day, including skate rentals. The daily price includes open public skating most days, for as long as visitors want to stay within the open and close times. To reserve the ice rink for private use, you may call 214-444-8758 and the cost is $250 per hour… what an awesome holiday party option for you and your kids!

Pajama Party with Santa at Stonebriar Mall – Tuesday evenings
Have you got that photo with Santa yet? Wouldn’t it be so much cuter with the little ones in their essential holiday pajamas? On Tuesday evenings at 6pm, between Nov 19th – Dec 17th, you can bring the little ones in their pj’s along with their favorite stuffed toy and/or blanket for a special story time with Santa and photo memory to treasure for years to follow. Photos packages can be bought from $23 and all they ask is that you also bring a new unwrapped toy for “Toys for Tots.” So, not only is Grandma buying a wonderful photo memory for your children, but donating to a good cause, too. The photos will also be entered in a Most Memorable Photo contest to win a $500 shopping gift card.
Event takes place at the lower level Sears Court, Stonebriar Mall
Polar Express Pajama Party- Dec. 14th & 15th
Experience the magic and enjoy a host of fun activities like cookie decorating, face painting, photo ops, winter games and a magician, to name a few all highlighted with a visit from Santa and screening of the fabulous movie “The Polar Express.”
