“Remember these two things: play hard and have fun.” – Tony Gwynn
Batter up, Frisco! “Sports City USA” is gearing up to host the 9th annual Frisco College Baseball Classic, a premier early-season event in college baseball. This three-day tournament, set to take place at the scenic Riders Field, promises to deliver high-octane action featuring some of the nation’s best collegiate baseball teams while celebrating the city’s rich sports culture.
Nathan Wooldridge, Vice President of Peak Events, the organization behind the Classic, reflects on the significance of the tournament’s growth. “We’re thrilled to bring the 9th annual Frisco College Baseball Classic to the stunning Riders Field. This year’s lineup features four of the nation’s top teams, promising three days of intense competition and unforgettable moments. We can’t wait for the Frisco community to come out, support these incredible student-athletes, and create an electric atmosphere that will be remembered for years to come.”
A High-Caliber Lineup
This year’s lineup includes two powerhouse programs ranked in the top 25 by D1Baseball. Leading the charge is LSU, entering the season as the preseason No. 3 team in the country, accompanied by Nebraska, ranked No. 24. Rounding out the competition are Sam Houston and Kansas State, both poised to make significant statements on the field. With this level of talent, fans can expect an electrifying showcase of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship.

“We’ve worked hard to bring together a competitive field that will not only challenge these teams but also provide a thrilling experience for the fans,” Wooldridge added.
More Than Just Baseball
While the action on the diamond is the main attraction, the Classic also exemplifies community spirit. This year, the event will raise funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) North Texas. Multiple donation opportunities will be available throughout the weekend, and parking fees will contribute to CFF donations. By supporting the Classic, attendees will directly contribute to a meaningful cause.
Tickets, Suites, and Special Offers
The Classic is designed to be accessible to fans of all ages and group sizes. Advance tickets start at just $20 per day, with prices increasing by $5 on game days. Groups of 12 or more can receive a 20% discount, making it an ideal outing for families, friends, or colleagues. For those looking to elevate their experience, a limited number of suites are still available, offering an exclusive view of the action in a comfortable setting.
A Proud Tradition in “Sports City USA”
Since its inception in 2017, the Frisco College Baseball Classic has become a cornerstone of Frisco’s sports scene. From its debut lineup featuring Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Arizona, the event has continued to attract top-tier teams and enthusiastic crowds. With advance ticket sales projecting one of the largest attendances to date, the 2025 edition is poised to further solidify its reputation as a must-attend event for baseball fans.

As practice day on Thursday, February 27, opens to credentialed media, excitement will build for what promises to be a weekend of unforgettable moments!
