Can you spell “celebration”? Yard Notes can – with tons of style, personality, and flair!
Yard Notes is a Frisco-based, family-run business dedicated to making special occasions even more special. Their whimsical messages are designed to “wow!” and installed with professionalism and first-rate customer service. It’s a family business with a cool story – and an even cooler community mission.
Ready to Celebrate Frisco in a B-I-G Way
Driving around Frisco, you’ll see Yard Notes’ bright, eye-catching messages everywhere, but you may not know the interesting story behind them.
Yard messages are all about spreading joy, right? Which, is exactly what Frisco needed during the (very) long “stay-at-home” summer of 2020… With extra time on his hands, Wakeland High School student Alex Weichert approached his family with an idea: “Let’s start a yard sign greeting business.”
Alex had previously gained experience installing greetings for another local sign company but wanted to take a shot at starting his own business. Together, the Weichert family decided to use their extra time to the fullest and created Yard Notes, co-owned by Alex and his mother, Pepena.
The business has turned out to be a great learning opportunity for the Weicherts. Pepena shares, “Alex wanted the opportunity to demonstrate his entrepreneurial skills while learning to launch and operate a small business. Yard Notes has been the perfect way to do this.”
Spreading Happiness from Yard to Yard
The Weicherts love spreading happiness in Frisco neighborhoods with their artfully crafted messages, and as we all know, fostering smiles has never been more important than it is now. Acknowledging that Yard Notes was founded in the midst of a pandemic, they’re committed to helping those who have been struggling during this time.
Pepena explains, “We want our company to positively impact the broader community that has been affected by COVID-19, so we have donated — and will continue to donate — 10% of our profits to the North Texas Food Bank.”
When you choose Yard Notes to celebrate someone special in your life, you can feel good about supporting a wonderful family business while also giving back to North Texans in need.
Yards Notes displays are designed to W-O-W. All of their greetings include bright, large, colorful letters along with added flair, such as balloons, hearts, stars, birthday cakes, emojis, and personalized graphics. Pepena and Alex work with customers to create custom messages and add in a bit of “Yard Notes magic” to create the perfect greeting.
Pepena says, “We aim for that “wow factor” and we don’t disappoint! We add a sprinkle of magic to each sign and add creative touches to make everything fun, festive, and most importantly, unique,” says Pepena. “We have the most extensive inventory of letters and signs in our area and that means that no two celebrations are alike. We want to keep our inventory fresh and fun, and unique, so we’re always adding new graphic signs and letter choices.”
If you’re looking to celebrate a special person in your life, check out Yard Notes’ Idea Gallery for inspiration! Pepena and Alex design and install the eye-catching displays with creativity and care. They offer over 30 different colors of letters to spell out greetings and over 1,000 decorative graphic signs.
“Anything you can think of, we can spell out with letters on a front lawn!”
Just recently, Yard Notes added sporting items (like skiing, snowboarding, and running), hobbies (including boating, jet skiing, and travel), and other cute graphic signs like bunnies, panda bears, and rainbow hearts. “If there’s a particular theme that our customers are seeking that we don’t yet have, we’re happy to consider a custom order with enough lead time,” says Pepena.
“Happy Birthday” yard signs tend to be the most popular celebration greeting, but they also love doing graduations, birth announcements, anniversaries, welcome home celebrations, and any other special occasion event. The Weicherts love the Frisco community and now, being a part of their neighbors’ special days.
“One of our most memorable greeting displays was for a war veteran who was turning 100,” says Pepena. “His grandson wanted to surprise him in a big way. We were honored to be a part of his centenarian celebration. Helping our customers celebrate life’s special moments is what we love best about what we do.”
Tis the Season to Celebrate
Spring is a big season for celebration in Frisco and Yard Notes is ready! With graduations just around the corner, Yard Notes is gearing up with even more color options and graduation-themed accessories. Pepena notes, “Graduation yard signs are a great way to tell your high school or college graduate how proud you are of them. Our big graduation yard signs will provide a backdrop for those memorable graduation photos.”
Yard Notes wants everyone to be able to afford a graduation greeting so they’re offering packages at three different price points. (Place your order soon. With more than ten high schools in Frisco alone, graduation bookings are filling up quickly.)
With yard signs being the “must-have” for kids, teens, and many adults, Yard Notes wants to ensure their high-quality greetings are also affordable. The company recently launched a Spring promotion of 10% off ALL Yard Notes greeting packages. Yard Notes’ online booking system is fully automated, and Pepena and Alex are also available by phone to help you create the perfect greeting for someone special!
Frisco has a LOT to celebrate in the coming months. Yard Notes is ready to help add sparkle and smiles to all of your special occasions!
