School Board Recognition Reception – Students, parents and community members are invited to join FISD educators in recognizing the contributions of School Board members during a reception from 5pm to 6pm before the regular Board meeting. 5515 Ohio Drive in the Administration Building lobby. The annual event is an opportunity to recognize Board members for their dedication to our school district and service to the community. The event will include light refreshments and entertainment.

- Town Hall on Frisco ISD – On Tuesday, January 16th, join Frisco Chamber Governmental Affairs as we hold a discussion with Frisco ISD Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip and Board of Trustee’s President John Classe. Public school funding, workforce development, and the future of a fast-growing ISD are the topics of discussion. If you have questions about Frisco ISD, this is the place to have them answered at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, 6843 Main Street. Free and open to the public.
- Wakeland Wolverine Theatre Presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast – On January 20 at 2pm. While open to anyone to attend, the performance will be a unique experience specifically designed to cater to the needs of the Autism community. Lighting levels will be adjusted, sound levels and orchestra levels minimized and house lights will remain dimly lit for the entire production. Their goal for this performance is to create an experience for parents to bring their children who are not always able to attend theatrical style events as they may be louder or distracting to those around them. - Harmony After the Holidays – On Saturday, January 20, 9am-12pm, the Frisco ISD Student and Parent Empowerment program continues their monthly series of seminars open to students in grades K-12 with their parents or guardians. Each month features a new topic and presenter to enrich the lives of children and give parents a toolbox for helping their kids navigate their school years and beyond. January’s program, Harmony After the Holidays, will explore the way your family functions, the family’s values, and discuss and assess any areas for improvement. The program meets one Saturday a month from 9 a.m. to noon at the Student Opportunity Center, 6928 Maple Street in Frisco.
- 22nd Annual Daddy Daughter Dance – On Saturday, February 3rd, the theme is “Be Our Guest” in Frisco Conference Center. Tickets go on sale December 11th. $20 per person for Frisco residents; $25 per person for nonresidents. Both dads and daughters must both have tickets. Dance Times: Pre K-K: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.; 1st – 2nd: 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.; 3rd – 4th: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; 5th – 6th: 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Trick-A-Trout – On Saturday, February 10th, starting at 8am, the Trick-A-Trout Kid Fish is a great opportunity for first time anglers to try the sport of fishing. Because only kids up through age 16 will be allowed to fish for the first three hours, they will have a chance to hone their fishing skills. The average size of the fish will be eight to ten inches and the daily bag limit is five per child. 3,000 Rainbow Trout are released in the Frisco Commons pond, located north of the main pavilion. 8000 McKinney Road. Please bring your own fishing gear and bait. There will be no concessions at the park, so bring your own drinks and snacks. Everyone is encouraged to keep what they catch since trout cannot survive when water temperatures rise in the spring. This event is rain or shine so everyone is encouraged to be prepared for the weather.
- 9th Annual Arts in the Square – On Saturday, March 24 – Sunday, March 25, from 11am to 6pm, AITS is a Juried Fine Arts and Crafts festival featuring over 120 of the best local and regional artists selling their handmade creations. In addition to providing the community with a high-quality cultural event and Frisco ISD student performances, the festival proceeds assist local charity partners by hosting an Empty Bowls booth benefiting Frisco Family Services.
- 7th Annual Frisco StrEATS Food Truck & Music Festival – On Saturday, April 14th, from 12noon to 7pm, StrEATS, gourmet food truck and music festival, is The longest running food truck event in North Texas!! Frisco StrEATS is a free, family-friendly event featuring some of DFW’s most popular gourmet food trucks, quality live music and a large number of vendor booths. The spring event has drawn larger and larger crowds throughout the years, as area families and food truck groupies have gathered to enjoy great food, trendy melodies and a beer garden offering beer and wine for purchase.
