Opening in 2026, Universal Kids is a theme park created specifically for families with younger children, making it easy for parents to find rides and activities that their little ones will love. And here’s the best part—it’s packed with experiences inspired by your favorite movies, including Minions, Shrek, Puss in Boots, SpongeBob SquarePants, and more!
This resort will feature different themed areas, each dedicated to a beloved Universal movie. That means plenty of chances to meet your favorite characters and enjoy unique, interactive adventures in every corner of the park.

Shrek’s Swamp Playground
Step into Shrek’s world with a playground he built just for you! Here, you can stomp, climb, laugh, and play, and pretend you’re inside the story. It’s also the perfect spot to get some energy out while waiting for your next ride!
SpongeBob SquarePants Undersea Adventure
Join SpongeBob and his friends in a beachy, underwater-themed area filled with fun! Play alongside Patrick, Sandy Cheeks, and Squidward, enjoy bubbles floating by, and even earn your very own boating license! This kid-friendly area is the next best thing to visiting Bikini Bottom in real life.

Join your favorite characters like Poppy, Branch, and others with fun lights, decorations, music, and of course, happiness! At this fun, cheerful festival, you can collaborate and sing in harmony!
Puss in Boots’ Kitty Adoption Drive
Join Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws, and Perrito for a fun kitten adoption drive! This area will be full of fun rides, games, sideshows, and food – plus it will have a sensory garden where guests can take a breather.
But wait—there’s even more! This theme park isn’t just about running around (although there’s plenty of space for that). It’s also designed with parents in mind, offering rest areas, great food, and a cool retail shop where kids can meet characters like Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse in person.

Ok, kids, this is the boring, grown-up stuff, but I’m supposed to share it. In a recent press release, Dan Cuffe, the Vice President and General Manager of Universal Kids Resort said, “At Universal Kids Resort, children will have the opportunity to play, sing, dance, and discover with some of their favorite characters. Beyond the highly engaging attractions and shows, families will find ample areas to rest and enjoy themed food and beverages and shop for fun character souvenirs. Each of these areas elicits wonder with a lush, colorful environment.”

It’s the perfect place for parents to relax while you recharge for another action-packed day. Best of all? No extra transportation is needed.
