This Week in Frisco – Week of Monday November 6, 2017

It’s starting to cool down Frisco, so let’s think about those who need our help. Donate clothes, blankets, and shoes to Project Warm Us; let military families know that Jungle Joe’s is offering FREE admission; and start your shopping early with the annual  JLCC ‘Neath The Wreath holiday gift market…  all This Week in Frisco!

Monday, November 6

Special Events

Project Warm Us – From October 23rd through November 22nd, Frisco Square will be collecting new/gently used items that may be dropped at: Frisco Square Management Office , 8874 Coleman Blvd, Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Project Warm Us collects warm items such as coats, blankets, and shoes to help keep the homeless warm during the cold winter months. Many of the people they serve are shelter-less, living in Dallas, Texas and the surrounding metroplex. They also collect for people living in shelters and orphanages. Statistics from the Dallas area homeless count shows there are 21% more homeless people than last year, and an expected increase with Hurricane Harvey victims. Their 2017 goal is 9,636 warm items by Thanksgiving.

Philanthropy

Leadership Frisco Class XX presents “Meals on the Move” Ribbon-Cutting – Join the graduates of Leadership Frisco’s Class XX at 6 pm for the unveiling of their class project, a box truck purchased and maintained exclusively for Frisco Fastpacs. Frisco FastPacs is a non-profit that delivers weekend meals to more than 700 Frisco ISD students in need each week. Without a large box truck, Frisco Fastpacs volunteers made multiple weekly trips to pick up food and deliver donations, limiting efficiency and their ability to expand to meet the needs of our growing community. Leadership Frisco Class XX is proud to unveil the new Frisco Fastpacs’ truck and celebrate their contribution to the children of Frisco ISD. Frisco Fastpacs, 110A Rose Lane, Suite 205.
