Frisco ISD Coffee Talk: From 8:00am-9:00am, Frisco ISD parents are invited to share coffee and conversation with Superintendent Dr. Waldrip and a member of the School Board. There is no agenda or topic. Any parent is welcome to attend to ask questions or share feedback with District leaders. Coffee Talks are held monthly. The January 24th meeting will be held in the Library of Lebanon Trail High School.

Frisco ISD College Fair – From 6:00pm-8:00pm at Centennial High School, Frisco ISD will welcome dozens of colleges and universities from across the country to meet with students and parents about admissions. This College Fair is open to grades 9-12 and their parents. No registration is required.

1 Million Cups, Frisco – Join the 1MC Frisco team at LaunchPad City at 9:00am as they deliver another great event for Entrepreneurs. Learn what it looks like to build a business from the Founder’s perspective. Make sure you’re ready to participate when the Q and A section begins. Also, they’ll have a 90-second community spotlight section where they highlight current or upcoming programs.

Security at Work: Active Shooter Response for Small Businesses: On January 25, 2:00pm-4pm at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce offices. Presented by First Defense Solutions, this event is offered to small businesses from all industries to walk through what to expect in an active shooter situation and how to safely respond. This is a high-level overview, and their goal is to help you elevate the conversation around onsite safety in your office. This is a free training event and NOT a sales seminar. Register today as there is a cap on seating and number of participants.

Frisco Young Professionals Kickoff: On Thursday, January 25 from 5:30pm – 8:00pm at City Works at The Star in Frisco, with complimentary food and a cash bar for all of your happy hour needs. The event is come and go (so feel free to bring friends), but they do ask that you register in advance for planning purposes. Frisco Young Professionals is a program of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. ALL young professionals between the ages of 21-40 are welcome to join our group, as we have multiple networking, educational and philanthropic events each year.

Waterwise Workshop-Irrigation Station: On Friday, January 26, at 10:00am-12:00pm, learn about your irrigation system from Frisco’s own Licensed Irrigators in this hands-on workshop. Participants rotate through five different stations to learn about valves, heads & nozzles, leaks, controllers, and conservation. Each resident is provided with an informational booklet to accompany the workshop. Seating is limited to keep group sizes small. Location: Frisco Senior Center, 6670 Moore Street.

The Dallas Opera returns to Frisco on Saturday, January 27th from 2:00-2:30pm, this time with a children’s opera! Bring the whole family to enjoy this classic tale with an opera flair! The Three Little Pigs is based on music from operas by W.A. Mozart; it is sung in English and adapted by John Davies. Children and adults will enjoy this 30-minute program at the City Council Chambers! Rangers Winter Caravan FanFest: The Texas Rangers Winter Caravan presented by Kroger comes to Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco this Saturday, Jan. 27, 10:30am-1:00pm. Fans will have the opportunity to meet members of the Rangers, collect autographs, and enjoy a day of free, family fun and festivities at Dr Pepper Ballpark as the Frisco RoughRiders celebrate the franchise’s 15th anniversary season. The RoughRiders Foundation is also partnering with the Keeper of the Game for Baseball Equipment Drive benefiting Puerto Rico. Fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used baseball gear, children’s clothing, baby items and formula. In addition to the yearly autograph session with the Rangers (noon-1 p.m.), the Caravan continues to be a more family-friendly experience. Fans can enjoy inflatables (weather permitting), airbrush artists, and the Primrose and Riders playgrounds. Of course, Riders mascots and team dog Brooks will be attendance as well!  Scheduled guests include Jeff Banister, Elvis Andrus, Matt Bush, Keone Kela, Shawn Tolleson, Jose Trevino, David Murphy and Eric Nadel.
