Kids and Family

Frisco ISD Dual Credit Information Night: 6:00pm-8:00pm. Frisco ISD and Collin College will host a series of events this spring for students and parents to learn more about dual credit opportunities in the District. Families may attend the event at their home high school or any other scheduled across the District. The February 26th event will be at Centennial High School, 6901 Coit Road.

Arts

Color Theory with Carol Jones: 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Frisco Fine Art. In the visual arts, color theory is a body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination. Artist Carol Jones, whose faith inspired paintings have captured the hearts all over the country.

FISD and PTA Present SCREENAGERS Documentary: 7:00pm-9:00pm at Wakeland High School. Frisco ISD, in partnership with the Frisco ISD Council of PTAs, is hosting a screening of the award-winning documentary Screenagers, a documentary designed to help parents learn how to balance their children’s screen time in a tech-filled world. Parents, staff, and students (aged 10 and older) are welcome.

Author’s Corner: The new Frisco Arts Author’s Corner is a monthly book club that features local authors, sharing the love of literary arts with the Frisco community. The group meets at Half Price Books in Frisco on the last Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public. The first event will be on February 28th featuring John Alexander and his book, The Enclave.

Inspire Frisco Launch Party: 5:30-7:30. Register to attend the launch party of Inspire Frisco and enjoy an evening of great conversation, networking, libations and light hors d’oerves. Inspire Frisco is a group of organizations, city leaders, and businesses that want to support and Inspire Frisco entrepreneurs!

Arts Funding, Leadership Development, and Advocacy Workshop: 9:00am-5:00pm at LaunchPad City. In partnership with Creative Frisco, Texans for the Arts Foundation presents its signature workshop focused on developing and implementing strategies to build successful arts organizations through effective leadership, board development, and advocacy training.

March Made Simple Girls Night Out: Hosted by HeartStories, 6:30-9:30pm at Crest Infinity. HeartStories’ monthly GNO is like a mini-retreat in the middle of the week for busy girlfriends to take a little break, reconnect, and be encouraged and inspired.

The Common Table: Rahim Quazi performs 9:00pm-12:00am. Free.

The Reservoir: Weekly Karaoke w/ Dr. Rugg. Every Thursday night you can come and sing all of your favorites beginning at 8:00pm. No cover charge. If karaoke wasn’t already great enough, you can also enjoy their Thursday shot specials: $3.25 Rumple, Jager, Fireball, and Tuaca.

The Reservoir: The Mullet Boyz at 9:00pm. No cover charge. About the band: The Mullet Boyz rock the house with the best classic and current pop, rock, dance and rap. Part comedy show, part choreographed numbers, and all awesome music. The Mullet Boyz brew up a little John Cougar and a lot of Bon Jovi and Billy Squire to concoct a hackuva good time.

The Party of the Year: On March 3 at 12:00pm at the Frisco Senior Center, the Frisco Public Library hosts lunch catered by Babe’s Chicken at tables decorated with themes that span January through December! Listen to cowboy poetry recited by Theatre Frisco performers. The silent auction will be overflowing with must-haves and want-to-haves! Buy your $25 ticket now.

Gala 2018 – ONE: Frisco Family Services’s 24th annual Gala ONE 2018 on Saturday, March 3, at the elegant Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park hotel, at 6 p.m., coming together as ONE and help prevent hunger and homelessness in our community.

Collin College CMN Dance Marathon: 12:00pm-6:00pm at the Preston Ridge campus of Collin College. Be a part of Collin College’s first-ever Children’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon, CougarThon! If dancing is not your thing, don’t worry. There will be plenty other activities to participate in individually or with your teams!

Frisco ISD Student and Parent Empowerment Program: 9:00am-12:00pm at the Student Opportunity Center. Students in grades K-12 and their parents are invited to attend the monthly presentation, which is designed to help families improve relationships, build communication and become better parents and students
