Performance Indoor Training+ (The PIT+), a 56,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor soccer facility in Frisco, TX, has announced its partnership with Journey, an organization that combines purpose, adventure and community by funding building projects around the world. The PIT+ is making a charitable contribution of 100 soccer balls to be delivered by Journey as they travel to help build homes for a community in Nicaragua from July 30th through August 3rd.
For Journey, funding these building projects is just the beginning. This organization gives people the opportunity to see their impact in the world by traveling and building homes with locals in their communities. Along with their nonprofit partner TECHO, Journey will be traveling to Nicaragua this summer to build homes for families currently living in slum conditions.
We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a wonderful organization in the best way we know how – through the gift of soccer,” said The PIT+ co-founder James Meese. “We have such a passion for the game of soccer and it’s often too easy to lose sight of the fact that not everyone in the world lives the way we do. It warms our hearts to know that these soccer balls will put a smile on the faces of the children who will be receiving them in Nicaragua.”
Nicaragua is the second poorest country in Latin America, with 43 percent of the total population living in impoverished rural areas. Of this, 63 percent live off less than one dollar per day.
