This August, The Painted Teacup will celebrate its one-year anniversary. The studio is the passion project of Cayman Hewitt, along with her mother and older sister.
The business, which is locally-owned and female operated, is inspired by the family’s lifelong love of art.
We are a family of female artists who spent most of our free time creating projects. We thought we could bring our visions and talents to the Frisco area for a creative and funky environment for all walks of life.

The Painted Teacup is not your “typical” pottery painting studio. It’s a warm, inspiring space, thoughtfully designed to encourage creativity and connection. It’s welcoming for kids and enjoyable for adults. Cayman says,
The Painted Teacup is a one-of-a-kind environment. We designed this space to cater to kids of all ages, but adults as well. Our studio is BYOB and we encourage ladies nights and date nights for all to enjoy. The typical pottery painting studio can have a very juvenile and clerical environment — our goal, however, was to create a space designed to inspire your inner artist!
The Painted Teacup offers great experiences for adults and kids, with no artistic experience required! In addition to traditional pottery painting, the studio also offers stencil/decal design.
This new offering makes it easy for everyone to paint like a pro. You can create a custom vinyl sticker stencil and paint a perfect image on a piece. Cayman says these are wildly popular because they’re so simple to use and allow you to easily replicate that mug or plate you saw online, but couldn’t find in stores.
Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing or planning your next “girls night”, they have you covered. You can also reserve the studio for birthday parties and other private events. Bring your own food, beverages, and décor, and The Painted Teacup will do the rest!

If you’d like to experience the fun of painting pottery from the comfort of your own home, The Painted Teacup delivers! Order your favorite “Paint at Home” kit online and they’ll drop it right to your doorstep.
Each kit comes with paint colors, brushes, paper towels, and instructions. After you’re finished, the studio will fire it for you with no additional fee (just use the convenient, no contact dropbox right outside the store for maximum ease).
Gifting Made Easy
Unique gifting is one of my very favorite features of the studio. In addition to gift cards, the Painted Teacup offers adorable pre-made “gift cans” for adults and children.
These super cute packages include one item to paint, three glaze colors, and a paintbrush. How perfect is that for the person on your gift list who has everything?!
The Painted Teacup also offers custom pottery painting by their in house artist. Cayman explains,
