Sports and Entertainment
Frisco Fair: May 20 – June 13, the Frisco Fair is back with a bang! Enjoy carnival rides, midway games, live music, arts and crafts, a cocktail tent, and of course…FAIR FOOD! This annual event is a great way to usher in the summer. Here’s more info about the 2021 Frisco Fair.
Movies at The Star: June 30, July 28. Enjoy a free outdoor movie on the lawn of Tostito’s Championship Plaza! The first movie of the season was May 26, and we hear there will be more on the calendar soon. Keep an eye on The Star’s calendar.
Frisco Summer Jam: June 26 at Frisco Skate Park, don’t miss Frisco Summer Jam presented by Bike Mart. It’s the only official BMX competition at Frisco Skate Park. (In 2019, participants drove over a combined 3,000 miles to compete in the beginner and amateur contests and open class jam!)
Let’s Roll, Frisco: June 25, grab your skates and let’s roll, Frisco! Play Frisco is setting up a temporary outdoor roller-skating course in the circle drive of Frisco Commons. Bring your friends, jam to the 80’s music, and maybe try your best Limbo. 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, free event.
Movie in the Park: July 23, Frisco Commons. Play Frisco presents a free outdoor movie — Raya and the Last Dragon. Movie begins at 8:00 pm. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and favorite people! More info coming soon at playfrisco.com.
FC Dallas: Always a local favorite, FC Dallas professional soccer games are fun for all ages. Get ready to cheer from the recently expanded Toyota Stadium (and take time to visit the National Soccer Hall of Fame while you’re at it).
Frisco RoughRiders: The Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers play their games at the beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco and offer a consistent line-up of promotional events, from Bark in the Park, The Beatles Tribute Night, and weekend post-game fireworks! Don’t forget about the lazy river, too… RoughRiders games offer fun for fans of all ages.
Swim, Splash, and Slide
Frisco Water Park: Opening May 29. Oh, how we missed the Frisco Water Park last year! Challenge a friend to a race down the Preston Plunge, conquer The Fort, or float the Lazy River, and much more. You’ll find plenty of shade and a concession stand, too.
Dive-In Movies at FAC: June 4 – August 6. Splash your way into summer with Friday night Dive-in Movies on the big screen at the Frisco Water Park! Movies begin at dusk and are included with a paid admission to the Water Park.
Thursday Teen Pool Nights: Beginning June 10, Thursdays are for teens! From 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm, for just $5, teens can hang at the Frisco Water Park swimming pool with their friends!
Play Frisco Splash Pads: Frisco boasts three city-run splash pads, all of them typically open from May 15 – September 30 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. It’s hours and hours of free, safe summer fun.
Paws in the Pool: September 18. Dog owners of Frisco, here’s a great way to end the summer! Every summer, Frisco Water Park closes ends the season with a dogs-only swim day! Purchase tickets in advance, because this event may sell out!
Lake Lewisville and Little Elm Beach: No matter your age or interest, you can have fun in or by the water at nearby Lake Lewisville. Tubing, skiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing, and more.
Annual Traditions
Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge: May 21 – August 11, kids can take part in this annual challenge for readers of all ages and abilities – even children who have not yet begun to read! Log your summer reading, discover activities, and earn fun badges and prizes!
Hotter ‘n Firecrackers Glow 5K Run: July 3. An annual Frisco tradition! Participants will light up the night as they race through Frisco Square sporting flashing LED lights and their brightest fluorescent gear. Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing ‘glow’ effect, energized by the beat of electronic music.
Frisco Freedom Fest: July 3-4. The 4th of July is a big deal in Frisco! The two-day Fest includes the Hotter ‘n Firecrackers 5K, a corn hole tournament, Taste of Frisco, and a Dachshund Dash! The annual fireworks extravaganza is the dazzling finale on July 4, hosted by the City of Frisco, FC Dallas, and CoServ. The skies will light the night with a 20-minute show beginning at approx. 9:45 pm.
Frisco SnoCone Lady: Summer isn’t summer without a visit to the Frisco SnoCone Lady. With ample shade and dozens of fun flavors, this is a must-visit spot to cool down and hang with your favorite people.
Food and Outdoor Markets
Patio Dining: The sun is calling and I must drink a frozen Margarita on the patio! Frisco is loaded with fantastic restaurants that boast great patios, so grab your sunglasses and have a meal al fresco!
Frisco Rotary Farmers Market: Every Saturday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at 6048 Frisco Square Blvd, find local growers and ranchers who offer juicy melons, peaches, vine-ripened tomatoes, fresh corn on the cob, meat and more. Also meet local purveyors of baked and canned goods, honey, olive oil, soaps, arts and crafts and other artisan products.
Frisco Fresh Market: The FFM open-air marketplace offers year-round weekend fun, and fresh, locally sourced products. Catch their family-friendly events and shop for specialty foods. Eat on-site and finish up shopping for homemade desserts and exceptional consumer goods. Don’t miss Peach Weekend June 19-20 or Watermelon Weekend August 7-8!
Rail District Outdoor Market: June 19, July 17, August 21. Every third Saturday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, this open-air marketplace invites local merchants to bring their goods and services outdoors! Salons, gift shops, boutiques, bakeries, restaurants, arts, music and entertainment, and so much more.
Live Music
Music in the Square: Every Friday in June from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Simpson Plaza, in the heart of Frisco Square. This family-friendly event features a diverse set of extraordinarily talented local performing artists! Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, a picnic dinner, and your favorite people.
Live on the Lawn: Beginning in July, Live on the Lawn is coming back! Pack your blankets, chairs, and coolers and bring your family for a night of live music in Simpson Plaza at City Hall.
Music in the Chamber: May – September, escape the heat and enjoy this series of monthly, intimate concerts. Each concert is held in Council Chambers, a state-of-the-art, acoustically designed space by architects associated with NYC’s Radio City Music Hall.

Monster Mini Golf: This state-of-the-art, indoor, climate-controlled mini golf facility is completely under the luminescent glow of black light! The unique, “living art” and monster-themed décor features fun-loving, animated monsters.
Trophy Park: This full-service restaurant and sports lounge at The Star boasts upscale charm, eclectic food and drink menu, an amazing space to watch a football game, bowl a few frames, or have a great time with friends.
