Although I was born in the 70s, I would consider myself a child of the 80s and, like many of you, I do still hook up my Atari and Nintendo from time to time to catch a little electronic nostalgia. My daughter, on the other hand, is just about old enough to start “accessorizing” my old GI-JOE and Transformers and I’m sure her electronica will probably revolve around an iPad, Xbox or Playstation.
My older brother’s generation, however, lived and died by a game called Pinball. If you’re looking for a whole weekend of flashback fun and you want to leave your quarters at the house, you need to come to the 2015 Texas Pinball Festival on March 27th-29th at the Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco Hotel, Convention Center, & Spa.
This show draws people from all over the United States, and beyond. It is the largest show in the industry and we want you to experience it first hand.
Over 400 vintage and new pinball machines and classic arcade games are scheduled to be set on free play. Enjoy a variety of adult and kid pinball tournaments throughout the weekend to test players’ pinball skills against others for trophies and prizes. Vendor demonstrations, parts, supplies, equipment, and memorabilia will be on display all weekend. There will be a presentation by well-known pinball artists and designers, and they will be available to sign autographs and answer questions from the audience.
A pinball auction will be held Saturday afternoon. Door Prizes for pinball related memorabilia will be drawn throughout the weekend, including a grand prize raffle drawing Sunday awarding a just-released full size Pinball Machine to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
Come on out, and bring the family!
