Last weekend, the Texas Legends returned to the Lone Star State to take on their divisional rivals, the Austin Toros. They dropped the first game but earned a split of the two-game series by taking the finale.

During Friday night’s 122-97 loss, it seemed as though the Legends could never catch up. They were outscored in every quarter, save for the fourth, and routinely trailed by double-digits.
Despite their overall lackluster effort, they once again received a double-double from Melvin Ely, who contributed 16 points and 10 total rebounds. NBA D-League’s Number One Prospect, Devin Ebanks, once again paced the scoring attack as he knocked down 24 points.
Another highlight from the Legends came from their bench. Backup G Booker Woodfox finished with 11 points in just under 20 minutes of play, and backup F Sammy Yeager scored 14 points in just over 21 minutes of playing time.

The second game of the two game set got the Legends back to their winning ways. They took an eight-point lead after the first quarter and led by 13 at the half.
Veteran NBA star, Melvin Ely, scored a season-high 32 points, while collecting 8 rebounds. Dangerous Devin Ebanks added yet another double-double to his resume, picking up 29 points and 10 boards. 21-year-old G Ricardo Ledo notched a double-double of his own, with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Backup G Booker Woodfox was solid from the bench once again, as he put up 16 points in just over 22 minutes on the floor.
Texas Legends Player Spotlight: Ricky Ledo
SG Ricardo Ledo has weaved a curious path towards the NBA. Taken by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round (43rd pick) of the 2013 NBA Draft, Ledo declared himself eligible out of Providence College, despite having ever played a single game for the Friars.
After being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks, he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, and finally to the Dallas Mavericks. He signed a four-year contract with the Mavericks last summer, and was assigned to the D-League on November 30.
Although Ledo has been a member of the Texas Legends for just over a month, he is already making his presence felt. If he continues to produce at his current pace, he may challenge teammate Devin Ebanks for the title of NBA D-League’s Number Two Prospect. Over his 14 games with the Legends, the 6’7” Ledo is averaging 14.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, and 2.6 apg.
