Stephanie Hawver has successfully completed training and received certification as an Educational Consultant for Educational Development Corporation (EDC) based in Tulsa, OK. EDC is the publisher of an award winning line of Usborne and Kane Miller books comprised of over 1,500 titles including lavishly illustrated informational non-fiction texts as well as engaging fiction books for children of all ages. Mrs. Hawver will be servicing several schools and libraries in this area.

She looks forward to increasing literacy through the following programs offered through EDC:

“Literacy for a Lifetime” is a 50% matching grant program which allows schools, businesses, and foundations to partner with EDC to help support organizations working to increase literacy among our youth. These organizations, in turn, use the received donations or grant money to purchase Usborne and Kane Miller books and receive 50% more in return.

“Cards for a Cause Fundraisers” offer boxed sets of 30 beautifully embellished cards with matching envelopes to help an organization reach its fundraising goals.

“Reach for the Stars!!” is a generous pledge-based reading incentive program designed to benefit schools, individual classrooms, clubs, pre-schools, church groups, homeschool groups, charities, businesses, and public libraries. Participants have a goal to read, or be read to, for 300 minutes over a two week period of time, thus developing a reading routine and receiving Usborne and Kane Miller books for participating.

“Reading is a Gift Book Fairs” provide commercial-free, quality books at great prices which can benefit a school or organization by raising funds and/or providing free books.

In addition to these great programs, Mrs. Hawver also provides parents, schools, teachers, and libraries in the Frisco, Plano, Allen, Little Elm, The Colony, and Denton areas with the ability to purchase Usborne and Kane Miller books directly from her. She offers personalized reading recommendations for your child based on his/her needs and interests. For private or public school teachers and homeschooling families, she can help you find the perfect books and materials to include in or supplement your curriculum.
