There is no doubt dance is a popular activity for kids of all ages. How adorable are your little ones when they make their own unique moves to any kind of music?
Brenna Smith-Fogus was one of those little girls that knew at an early age she would one day open her own dance studio. “It was not of case of how, but when,” she says. A professional dancer with experience in studios around Dallas, Brenna realized her dream opening Southern Edge Dance Studio in Frisco.
Southern Edge offers a variety of dance classes. From jazz, hip hop, ballet, tap, lyrical, and contemporary dance, to acro, flexibility, drill and pro league, there’s a class for every type of dancer.
Class size averages 13-15 students with focus on quality versus quantity. Smaller classes ensure each student receives individual attention. Students range in age from 2 years old to adults.
Brenna spends a lot of time recruiting the right staff to enhance Southern Edge‘s goals. During her career, she connected with colleagues and instructors that have a variety of dance experience so sudents learn from professional dancers and dance scholars. Brenna’s staff demonstrate a strong work ethic, while investing in every students ability and growth as a dancer. For example, iInstructor Leslie Shaw-Hatchford focuses on professional hip-hop. She also leads the Pro Lead Prep class preparing young women for professional careers in the sports industry.
When researching locations, Frisco was an obvious choice. Brenna lives close and has worked here for some time. Along with her team, they have built strong relationships with families in the area. So far, Southern Edge has enjoyed tremendous growth through word-of-mouth alone.
If you notice your children breaking out new moves to music, or you want a new dance experience, why not try this new vibrant studio? All ability levels are welcome and there’s something for everyone!
