Since 1978, The Family Place has been helping victims of family violence in North Texas by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
Paige Flink, CEO of The Family Place, sat down with us to share the bigger picture of domestic violence and its devastating impact on not only the direct victims, but to witnessing children, and the entire community. “If we don’t help the people who are hurting, a lot of other things aren’t going to work in the world.”
Paige describes the warning signs, including those easily missed or misinterpreted. She explains how to help a friend who may be a victim, how a victim can escape gracefully, and what domestic violence looks like in a wealthy community like Frisco.
It does happen in Frisco, although it’s often well-hidden. This is an important, eye-opening conversation that you no one should miss.
