One of the fastest growing cities in America proved its appeal to the business community once again when the doors officially opened at a new Market Street grocery store in West Frisco last Friday morning.
The second location in Frisco, the store was already a-bustle with eager shoppers who have patiently awaited this new addition to their neighborhood.
The store celebrated their official ribbon cutting ceremony with more than one hundred local business owners and city leaders present to extend a warm Frisco welcome.
Executives of United, LLC, the Texas-based retail grocery chain with stores in 49 markets across north and west Texas and New Mexico, were in attendance to support the grand opening and recognize the many individuals who have worked long and hard to develop the new store.
They also presented Frisco Family Services with a $10,000 check in an effort to communicate their sincere desire to have a positive impact on the Frisco community, not only economically, but in support of the residents themselves.
But enough about the Grand Opening hoopla…
What you really want to know is whether this new location is special or different in any way from the other area Market Street stores, right?
In addition to the chef-prepared meals-to-go, household necessities, and exceptional bakery that you’ve come to expect at any Market Street location, the new store has a couple of unique, first-time features which Frisco shoppers (and Mayor Jeff Cheney) are over-the-moon about…
The Tap House
With 16 beers on tap, many of which are local, and a fantastic list of wine options, grocery shopping has just become far less tedious! Mayor Cheney joked that one of his least favorite activities is grocery shopping, but now that there’s a comfortable place to sit and have a beer…we might see him shopping a little more often.
Asian Bowl Center
Another first for Market Street is the Sushi and Asian Cuisine stations, offering Pho bowls, Ramen, and fresh sushi options.
The Wine Department
Visit the beer and wine department for an impressive selection of craft beers and wines from all over the world. Not sure where to start? Their Beer and Wine Stewards help you find the perfect pairing for your meal or select a gift that will impress even the most knowledgeable aficionado on your list.
Locally-Grown and Organic Produce
The new store offers each of the luxuries that make shopping at any Market Street appealing. Friendly carryout clerks, unique gifts, a coffee shop and juice bar, gourmet prepared foods, and a concierge team who is ready to handle any event for you.
In his comments preceding the official ribbon cutting on Friday, Mayor Cheney thanked the leadership team for continuing to reinvest in our community, and for choosing Frisco as their next location.
Frisco Chamber of Commerce President Tony Felker said that while many residents will remember the two grocery stores that were in this location previously…timing is everything.
It wasn’t the right time, it wasn’t the right product, it wasn’t a good match – at that time.”
He emphasized that while Frisco is excited about all of the new development going on, and shiny things like the $5 billion mile, there is a sincere interest in redevelopment as well – reinvesting in the community. Frisco leadership believes Market Street has the right product at the right time in the right location.
