Lifestyle Frisco Top 12: Our 2017 Year in Review

I stepped into the role of Editor-in-Chief in August of 2017 and my heart is thankful. I’m thankful for this means of self-expression, professional growth and a new extended family in the Lifestyle Frisco team. Brevity is not always a writer’s strength but I’ll do my best.

What means the most to me:  Every time our readers engage with our content, my heart is full. Every “Like,” share, retweet and comment on social media are noticed and appreciated. We recognize there are hundreds of things vying for your attention when you’re online, and no matter how much we grow, we continue to feel honored each time you choose to spend time with us.

What I’m most proud of at Lifestyle Frisco:  We produce high-quality, original content. We’re not re-sharing others’ articles. We develop compelling stories that are often infused with personal anecdotes about the topic at hand. We strive to create relatable content, always in support of local business, and what is of interest to the residents who live, work, and play in Frisco. Our writers are local residents with unique perspectives and touch-points in the community.

What I’m looking forward to in 2018:  I’ve been a part of the Lifestyle Frisco writing team since 2014. Since that time, we’ve all grown as writers, as active participants in the community, and in our capacity as an organization. In 2018, we’re poised to develop more local guides, more business spotlights, and more engaging videos. Behind the scenes, we’re actively strategizing, making new connections, and planning terrific content for you in 2018!

We published 483 original articles this year for a grand total of 1,302 since inception!

Below, you’re invited to re-live our top 12 most popular articles of 2017! Please reach out to me with your feedback, content ideas, or event invitations. Wishing you a year of immeasurable blessings and joy!  ~~ Nicole

Letter from the CEO:  Year in Review

2017 has been an amazing year here at Lifestyle Frisco… from hiring a new Editor-In-Chief and Sales Executive to expanding the number of writers we have on board to explosive business and audience growth.

In September, we announced our merger with and our new structure. I also shared my thoughts on how we were thinking about the future of our business.

In December, we launched our weekly interview-style video series, LIFESTYLE PROFILES. We’re thrilled to be delivering a weekly dose of  “discovering and disclosing the people who create the fabric of Frisco.

In Q1 2018, we’ll be bringing you more audio and video content, making it easier for you to keep up with what’s happening in Frisco in the way you want to learn about it. We’ll also be making it easier for you to find what you’re looking for.

Lifestyle Frisco is not a conventional media company and we do not intend to become one. Since launching June 6, 2013, Scott and I have managed Lifestyle Frisco by employing the best people we can find and giving them room to grow and shine.

We founded Lifestyle Frisco because we believed we could provide a great service to Frisco — instantly delivering relevant information on the topics that matter most to you. Serving Frisco is at the heart of what we do and remains our number one priority. Advertising is our principal source of revenue, but the sponsored content we provide is designed to be entertaining and informative rather than disruptive and annoying.

We’ve also emphasized an atmosphere of creativity and challenge, which helps us provide unbiased and enlightening information for those who rely on us for “who to know, where to go, and what to do in Frisco, Texas.”

Scott and I intend to write you a letter like this one at the end of every year. We’ll take turns so you’ll hear directly from each of us. We ask that you give us any feedback on what you would like us to cover, people we should know, and events in which we should participate. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

We are proud of the platform we have built… both for you, the audience, and our business clients. We hope that what we create in the future will have an even greater positive impact on our Frisco community.

There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” ~ C. S. Lewis

Here’s wishing you all the best for 2018!”  ~~ Wendi
