Fall is just around the corner. Is your closet ready?
We sat down with Frisco fashionista Katie Apple to get the inside scoop on the hottest trends for the upcoming season – and tips on how to make them work for your lifestyle.
Since 2016, Katie has made shopping easier (and more fun!) for Frisco women. Her online boutique, Apple Boulevard, offers a great selection of tops, dresses, shoes, accessories, and more.
Katie focuses on both comfort and style, offering high-quality, budget-friendly pieces that are perfect for Frisco women on the go. Best of all, you can shop from your social media feed, with free delivery right to your door!
Apple Boulevard was inspired by Frisco women.
Apple Boulevard was inspired by Katie’s own life as a Frisco mom. She’s always had a passion for fashion and worked in the industry for several years before choosing to stay home with her three sons. Katie says,
After I had my third little boy, I realized I had zero time [for shopping]. I was basically shopping at Target during my errands. Like ‘Hey, I need baby formula…and let’s grab a dress’ because that’s the only time I had…
Sound familiar? Katie knew she wasn’t the only woman struggling to find time to shop. She wanted to offer an alternative to the typical “grab and go” routine. She shared,
I had seen a couple of Facebook groups pop up and I thought ‘I think I can do this. I’m sure there are others like me who don’t have a lot of time and would love to shop while scrolling social media, instead of just grabbing a dress while shopping for groceries.’
Katie launched Apple Boulevard in 2016. She started small, selling mostly to friends. Before long, her business took off.
It grew quickly. People needed a way to buy clothes efficiently and have them delivered to their door for free…and the rest is history!
I’ll confess, I was a little star-struck when I sat down with Katie to chat about fall fashion. I’d never met her in person, but, as an Apple Boulevard shopper, I feel like I’ve known her for years. She was every bit as fun, bubbly, and adorable in real life as she is in her facebook posts.
Katie is a savvy fashion pro who exudes “girl next door” charm. She’s fun, relatable, and her fashion sense is always on point.
Katie “gets” busy Frisco women because she is one! She built a business that caters perfectly to our lifestyle. Here’s Katie’s advice on what’s hot for fall – and how to make it work in everyday life:
Apple Boulevard’s Top 5 Trends for Fall
Leopard Everything. “Leopard is always prevalent here in the Dallas area, but this season it is even bigger – and it’s everywhere. It’s on everything from headbands, to belts, to shoes, to dresses… The more leopard the better! It’s a great neutral to add to any outfit. Add it to your black shirt, put on a pair of leopard shoes, and you’re good to go!”
Ultra Cozy Sweaters. “Usually oversized is not really in, but this year, cozy, big, soft sweaters are on-trend. The softer, the better! This is what we really all want to wear, so it’s fun that it’s actually in style.”
Pops of Neon. “Usually we save bold colors for summer, but we saw it on the runway and have found ways to adapt it to our Frisco mom lifestyle. We’re seeing neon turtlenecks and neon in blazers, which is so fun! Usually, fall is all about the neutrals (like black, mocha, gray) so it’s really fun this season to add a pop of color any way that you can.”
Headbands. Katie says, “Headbands are the accessory that some people are a little scared of – but you’ll start seeing them more and more this fall. Headbands can be jeweled, they can be plain…and they’re super fun! Headbands are not just for little girls anymore – they’re for you. I like everything from plaid headbands, to solids, and all different prints and fabrics.”
Capes. “Another fall trend is the return of the cape (or the poncho, as we call them in Texas). We’ve always worn them, but now they’re in style again. We saw them on the runway again in every shape and size. Sometimes with tassels, sometimes with pompoms. In neutrals and a variety of colors, capes are going to be really big this fall. They’re fun to pair with jeans and booties and a super great way to be both comfy and in style.”
We hope you’ll have fun trying Katie’s favorite fashion trends this fall. After all, that pumpkin spice latte tastes even better when you’re looking your best!
