If you’re a 20-something like me, then your Facebook feed and your social calendar are flooded with wedding announcements this time of year.
My ears are ringing with the constant sound of wedding bells. Even though all the sparkling diamonds are starting to give me a headache, there are few things more fun than when one of your best friends gets engaged to a perfect-for-her man.
And lucky for us, champagne, and places like the Blushing Bride Boutique make the experience all the more magical.
First there were squeals and tears, but now we are a month in to the engagement and things are starting to heat up! Venue options, hairstyles, and all those nitty-gritty details and starting to overwhelm my friend, the bride, Nadine.
But this past weekend, we got to do some of the fun stuff, and shopping for the wedding dress was on the checklist. Myself, another friend Ashton, Nadine, and her mom hit the streets to find a wedding dress as classy, beautiful and amazing as our friend. Of course that lead us straight to the Blushing Bride Boutique in Frisco!
As soon as we walked saw the front door, we were just elated. We squealed (there’s a lot of squealing in wedding planning; it’s part of the checklist) and took our obligatory group photos before we even walked in (okay, and Instagrammed immediately).
We entered the Blushing Bride Boutique and headed to the back where our friendly consultant, Hannah, greeted us for check in.
The Blushing Bride Boutique is part wedding dress shop and part boutique. In our frenzy, I never made it to the back of the store for the boutique, but from what I saw in the window, they have a gorgeous selection!
The wedding dresses are in three different rooms depending on your style preference. Decorated in a rustic look, the store fits in with wedding trends at the moment.
The selection was wide, but not as full of depth as other, larger wedding shops. But for our preferred it that way. It was a much more personal, unique experience since it was a bit smaller.
What we loved about the experience is that we all got to walk around with Nadine and pick out dresses. After all, years of watching Say Yes to the Dress makes me an expert in wedding dress shopping… right?
In reality, we, the peanut gallery, knew nothing about trumpet vs. mermaid and did our best to let the bride express her opinion without us influencing her too much. Since it was her first time trying on dresses, we sampled a myriad of styles and the Blushing Bride Boutique had it all!
The atmosphere was perfect. It was elegant, but comfortable, and we knew we could giggle, laugh, make friends with the other group in our room. We could drink our champagne, and enjoy the fashion show without the evil glares I’ve experienced in other wedding dress boutiques.
Plus, Hannah made us feel right at home. She offered candid opinions, unlike the traditional sales person that just says everything you try on is perfect, and listened to what the bride wanted.
Hannah also served as our photographer for a few group photos and our hostess with the mostest! I can’t compliment enough the service we received. We went to a few other places that day, and nothing compared to our time at the Blushing Bride Boutique. Plus, they have a well stocked kitchen in the back… candy, sodas, and Slimfasts galore!
The best part about our visit? When we stood out on the show floor, our bride wearing her chosen dress and watching her put on the veil. As my best friend’s eyes swelled with happy tears, she looked in the mirror imagined walking down the aisle to her man.
Here’s to the new husband, and here’s to the new wife, may they remain lovers, for a life.
