Inaugural Frisco Bowl Tickets on Sale

The inaugural Frisco Bowl won’t be played until December 20 at Toyota Stadium, but tickets for this college football bowl matchup between a team from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and an at-large team have become available.

Fans interested in securing a spot at the first bowl game to be played here in Frisco can either visit www.thefriscobowl.com or call (855) 492-8053 for tickets. Sideline seats are $49 with the highest-priced tickets, which are at midfield, costing $65.

Frisco gained this game earlier this summer when the former Miami Beach Bowl, which was most recently played at Marlins Park, home to the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball in the Little Havana section of Miami, relocated from the Sunshine State.

The Frisco Bowl is being run by ESPN Events, an offshoot of the sports broadcasting network empire that produces various sporting events, including college football bowl games.

This year’s contest could have some local flavor if SMU, a member of the American Athletic Conference, is selected to play close to home.

But whether the AAC representative for this game is or isn’t the Mustangs, that squad will face a team from either Conference USA, a league which another local team, Denton-based North Texas, plays in, the Mountain West Conference, the Mid-American Conference (MAC) or Brigham Young University (BYU).

Fans can purchase a maximum of eight (8) tickets for the Frisco Bowl.

The Frisco Bowl, which will also be televised on the ESPN family of networks, is the fourth college bowl game in Dallas-Fort Worth, joining the Armed Forces Bowl, played at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth on December 23, the Cotton Bowl, played at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium on December 29 and the Heart of Dallas Bowl, played at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas Fair Park on December 26.

Toyota Stadium will also host the 2018 Division I Football Championship on January 6, 2018.
