Hope Park – A Unique Park Experience On Your Frisco Doorstep

During a recent conversation with fellow mommies, we were making plans for a play date with our little ones to Hope Park. “Where is that?” inquired one mom? Another, almost jumping down her throat, replied – “Oh, have you not been yet? You MUST go!

Hope Park resides within Frisco Commons Park, in the heart of Frisco, just off Main Street near Preston Road.

The concept is an amazing idea by Jenni Jensen, a Frisco resident who had a dream to design a park for “children of all abilities, and a place where they can all play side by side.“

Hope Park has new and exciting equipment not found in any other park in Frisco, going well beyond monkey bars and slides, incorporating 3 play areas in one:

The park surface is rubber so the inevitable fall is a soft(er) one. There are climbing walls, slides, and swings (including a tire swing), a choo-choo train, teeter-totter, and merry-go-round. But the best part has to be the sensory area which engages children at many developmental levels.

I love the references to Frisco landmarks like Babe’s Chicken House, Double Dip, 5th Street Cafe, and the Snow Cone Lady. The park is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of seats for parents to relax and watch.

My 20-month old loves roaming around the Tot Lot, trying out the slides, peering through windows in the little houses, and making music on the giant xylophone.

As a parent, it was a much more relaxed visit to a park that is tailored to her age and there are not many opportunities for us to end up in the emergency room.

My 6-year-old always wants to go back and enjoys every aspect of exploring the park saying, “Mom, this park is amazeballs!” Apparently, that is the “in” phrase these days.

As Hope Park is the highlight of Frisco Commons Park, why not make it an afternoon out? You can also enjoy the greater park area for a picnic and walk. There is also a splash park in the summer and large restrooms on both sides. Hope Park does not disappoint!
