Evan’s Avengers mission is to raise funds for national childhood cancer research programs, to build awareness that less than 4% of the National Institute of Health’s annual funding supports childhood cancer research, and to support inpatient programs.
With more than 16 major types of pediatric cancers and over 100 subtypes, childhood cancer should not be considered rare.
Each day 43 children, this is more than one classroom, will be diagnosed with some form of cancer and are at risk of a high mortality rate, or they may later suffer from a secondary cancer due to medication used to save their lives.
More funding means more research and increased treatment options available for children with cancer. Ultimately, we are focused on finding cures.
