BIND: Brain Injury Network of Dallas is a nonprofit organization established to meet the long term needs of brain injury survivors (including stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain cancer or other neurological conditions) through a unique and effective model called Clubhouse.
Our mission is to provide tools and a bridge of support to adult survivors of brain injury so that each can reconnect to work, life and the community. Our vision is to lead the DFW area in provision of member-directed services and serve as the model for brain injury clubhouses across the state of Texas.
Since opening a 1 day/week program in 2015 to 8 members, BIND has grown to serve more than 70 brain injury survivors in a robust 5 day/week program supported by outstanding staff and over 100 dedicated volunteers.
At least 75% of BIND members report stable or improved quality of life after participating in the program for 6 months, which clearly demonstrates program effectiveness. BIND programs include comprehensive employment services, caregiver support, and programming for Spanish-speaking brain injury survivors.
In 2020 BIND adapted our Clubhouse and services in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. We continue to provide programs and engagement through our new virtual Clubhouse. Once we safely return to our physical location we will continue virtual services to reach even more families.
