Frisco StrEATS Gourmet Food Truck and Music Festival

Spring is in the air and everyone wants to be outside as much as possible. This time of year we look forward to using the Parks and Trails more often, hanging out at Frisco Rail Yard, listening to live music on a great patio… And for many Frisco residents, we perhaps look most forward to the Frisco StrEATS Gourmet Food, Truck and Music Festival!

Now in its 7th year, this firm family favorite will take place in the Frisco Rail District on April 14, 2018 from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

The Festival is presented by the Frisco Downtown Merchants Association, a nonprofit organization that supports and promotes the growth of downtown Frisco and its retailers.

President Mark Piper (owner of Patti Anns Flowers) is very excited about the food and music line up this year.

StrEATS Gourmet Food Truck and Music Festival is the longest-running food truck event in North Texas,” said Mark. “This is our 7th annual event and it’s the first time we’ve held the event in “The Rail District.”

If you need a little convincing as to what’s so fantastic about a food truck festival…

5 Reasons to Love Food Trucks

When you visit Frisco StrEATS this weekend, as you search for your favorite food truck, take a little time to peruse all there is to offer and learn about new cuisines and cultures from all corners of the world!

What’s on the Menu?

There will be at least 15 food trucks and vendors participating this year offering a delicious selection and wide variety of cuisines to suit any palate:

Nammi (Vietnamese Cuisine) | Coolhaus (Dessert Ice Cream) | Bellatrino (Pizza) | Ruthies Grilled Cheese | Cajun Tailgators | Butchers Son (Tasty Sliders) | Gandolfo’s (New York Flavor Deli Sandwiches) | Sir Franks (franks and artisan sausages) | Guava Tree (Cuban American cuisine) | Chiaves Italian Street Food | Taco Bites and Beats (Gourmet Taco’s, burritos and quesadillas) | The Hot Potato | Chez Flo | The Dock (Sandwiches, Taco’s and salads with a coastal flair) | The Egg Stand.

What Else is Happening at the Festival?

The Children’s area, sponsored by Guidepost Montessori will be a lot of fun for toddlers to kids age 10 years old. They can participate in games, and enjoy face painting and balloon benders.

The Heritage Association of Frisco will bring a stagecoach and costume characters for instant print pictures free of charge. Frisco Fine Art will have a tent promoting their array of summer art programs.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, grab some of your favorite food and then sit and relax taking in all the festival has to offer. The Live Music lineup includes some great popular bands like Emerald City, Iron Horse Express, Cast Iron Soul, and Wooden Nickel.

All your favorite main street store owners like Crafted, Summer Moon, Lillian Welch will all be on-hand in vendor tents to show you what they have to offer and meet and greet their local community.

Frisco Resale will be in attendance providing information about all of their great work and their primary focus to prevent hunger in their community. They encourage anyone visiting the festival that day to bring a Food Pantry donation to their vendor tent, for which you’ll receive 10% off your entire purchase at the booth that day.

Other vendors who will be in attendance include: Once Upon a Dream Boutique | Excessive Carts | Toyota of Plano | Sassy Bubbles | Title Boxing Club | Lula Roe | Rockstar Martial Arts | JD Kettle Corn | Wild Bills Soda | Kona Ice | JBW Vending | The Dough Box | Texas Fit Chicks

Many of Frisco’s sports teams will be well represented, including the Dallas Cowboys, the FriscoRoughRiders, the Texas Legends, the Texas Revolution, and the newest team to join Sports City USA, the Dallas Rattlers.

Where to Park

Free public parking is available in the City Hall parking garage, the Frisco Square parking lot and there are spots available along Main Street. A free shuttle service will be provided on a continuous basis throughout the day. The shuttles will pick up behind the City Hall parking garage at the corner of John W. Elliot and Frisco Square Blvd near the Snow Cone lady. Drop off and pick up at the event will be at the gazebo near 5th Street/Main Street.

Mark Piper and the Downtown Merchants Association would like to extend a sincere thanks to the 2018 sponsors: Crest Cadillac/Infinity, Frisco Association for the Arts, Toyota of Plano, Love That Door, Novo Med Spa and Guidepost Montessori without whom the event would be impossible to host.
