Frisco Neighborhood Guide – Dominion at Panther Creek

I found Dominion at Panther Creek by accident while accompanying a friend who was perusing First Texas Homes style of landscaping. (First Texas is one of the key builders in the community). Following a long search around Frisco for a family home, we immediately liked the feel of the area, with its mature trees and the fact that it was not all a building site, yet you could still buy a brand new house. My family and I were very lucky to get a fantastic inventory/spec home just 3 years ago and First Texas Builders proved easy to work with.

In 2013, the Dallas Morning News recognized Panther Creek as No.1 for Families in North Texas.

Located in northeast Frisco near the intersection of Preston Road and Eldorado Parkway, Dominion at Panther Creek stretches east with two main entrances from Eldorado and two from Hillcrest Road.

It is a 275 acre master planned community built alongside Brinkman Ranch (a beautiful piece of countryside in the heart of Frisco and famous for hosting the first 5 episodes of the popular 80’s series “Dallas” – now there is a bit of trivia you may not have known!)

Restaurants & Shopping

7-Eleven is located on the Hillcrest & Eldorado intersection for convenience and in 2013 a new Preschool/Day care was added, Children’s Lighthouse of Frisco. There is space at this site for several more retail units, and we wait with excitement to see what goes in next. Within a 5 minute drive, as you travel south on Preston, you can enjoy various stores and restaurants including a dry cleaners, preschool, Giovanni’s Italian, Golden Moon Chinese, Randy White’s, and Grover’s Bar & Grill, to name but a few. Beyond that, Frisco Square & Main Street are also within easy reach.

Traveling east on Eldorado towards the McKinney/Frisco border you will find a host of small and large stores, anchored by a very large Kroger Marketplace and a Petco, plus restaurants (Thai Green Village, Rosa’s Cafe, CiCi’s, Rosata’s Pizza), coffee shops (Starbucks), a frozen yogurt shop, a Texas Fitness Center, and a 24 hr. E-Care emergency medical  facility, among others.

Homes are still being built by First Texas, Darling, and Grand Homes, with a just a few lots each left at the back of the community.

Dominion at Panther Creek boasts a beautiful community pool with plenty of seating, including shaded canopies, a fishing lake, and a nearby play structure built beside it.

Inside the community is a park area known as Coyote Crossing with a larger playground area, and a Pavilion with grilling facilities. This area is a hive of activity on a good weather day with basketball courts, walking trails, and it hosts the annual Easter Egg hunt.

There is an active HOA which takes pride in ensuring the curb appeal of the homes is at an optimum level and several events are held throughout the year for neighborhood families, including the Easter Egg hunt, Summer Party, Christmas party for children and adults, and coordinated garage sales. Homeowners can also sign up for a dedicated interactive neighborhood app that works like Facebook to engage and keep people informed of news and events.

Polly Tadlock Elementary is at the heart of the community and is a buzz of activity throughout the year. The students from here then feed into Maus Middle School and Heritage High School, both further east off Eldorado Parkway.

There are over 2 miles of hike and bike trails around the community.  With a slight sloped terrain, trails lead to a tunnel built by the City of Frisco under Hillcrest Road to connect with neighboring community Panther Creek Estates.

I love to hear the cows from time to time on Brinkman Ranch early in the morning, providing a sense of countryside while knowing we are still close to the hustle and bustle of Frisco.
