Easter fun starts well before Easter this year! There are a ton of family friendly Easter related events going on around Frisco so be sure to get in on the action. We don’t know where winter went but we’re ready for spring so let’s get into it!

“Tech Teens at Frisco Public Library” – Let’s talk tech! From 3-4pm on the 1st floor, Teen Room, we’ll explore coding, add and website development, digital design, circuits, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, 3D printing, technology careers and more! This Spring Break event allows your teen to Tinker, Engineer, Create, and Hack alongside experts from the Perot Museum when the TECH Truck drives to Frisco Public Library, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd., Frisco, Texas 75034, for hands-on science and tech activities. *Tickets available at the 1st floor Teen Room Ask Us Desk 30 minutes before the class begins.
“Frisco Family Movie Night” – Join us for snacks and a movie showing of “Emperor’s New Groove” (Rated G). Bring blankets and pillows. From 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Frisco Public Library on the 2nd floor, Children’s Program Room. Tickets not required.
“Frisco Young Professionals (21-40) – Game Night” – Join the Frisco Young Professionals for games of Cards Against Humanity, Uno, Table Topics, and Bunko. Or, bring your own board game to play. “Poetry Contest” – Frisco Public Library is sponsoring a poetry contest for students in grades 1-12. Students are invited to submit original poems March 11-April 15. Entry forms are available at the library or online.

“24th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza” – Hip. Hop. Play. The Easter Bunny is on his way! Bring your Easter baskets, and join us for the Easter Eggstravaganza for children ages 12 and under. There will be more than 80,000 Easter eggs up for grabs, so hop on over to the fields at Toyota Soccer Center, located behind Toyota Stadium on Main Street. Children with special needs are invited to join the hunt on field #11. Special reserved parking is also available. FREE EVENT!

“Frisco Improv Players present a Night of Improv” – Frisco Improv Players is an improvisational comedy troupe that specializes in family-friendly, game-based comedic performances, similar to those seen on the syndicated television show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” The troupe performs at the Frisco Discovery Center at 8004 North Dallas Parkway, where their fast-paced, interactive improv is popular with all age groups.
“Sensory Story Time at the Frisco Public Library” – Enjoy a family story time geared toward children who are on the autism spectrum and/or are sensitive to sensory overload. Enjoy books, songs, and sensory activities. Families with children ages 8 and under. From 3:00 – 3:45 pm at the Frisco Public Library, 2nd floor, Children’s Program Room. “OrangeTheory Fitness 2016 Paddy Dash” – In this our 8th year for the Paddy Dash, we welcome you to join us on March 12th in Frisco Square for an event like none other. We do not just put on a 5k run, we promote an event that the whole family can participate in. Enjoy a challenging sanctioned 5k route, our 1 mile fun run/walk, or the free Piddy Pat 50 yard dash for kids 10 and under. “Coffee with the Mayor” – Frisco City Hall is serving “Coffee with the Mayor.” Residents are invited to join Mayor Maher Maso for coffee and casual conversation the second Monday of each month from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Have a question for Mayor Maso? Come hear the answers over a cup of joe. Coffee with the Mayor meets at City Hall inside the George A. “Fix a Leak DIY” – The City of Frisco is teaming up again with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) WaterSense program for its annual Fix a Leak Week to share handy, leak fixing advice for your home. This hands on workshop will offer tips on how to fix leaks and upgrade to water efficient fixtures that will save you water and money. Register to attend the free workshop being held from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Frisco Senior Center.
“Frisco City Council Meeting” – The Frisco City Council typically meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month inside the City Council Chamber at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. Citizens are welcome to attend the open meeting, which generally begins at 6:30 p.m. Citizens’ input is heard at approximately 7:30 p.m.

“7th Annual ARTS IN THE SQUARE” – Returns April 2-3, 2016 in Frisco Square. In collaboration with the Frisco Independent School District, Frisco Square presents Arts in the Square with proceeds going to the Frisco Education Foundation and Frisco Family Services. Arts in the Square 2016 takes place April 2nd and 3rd, and will feature over 120 of some of the best local and regional artists selling their handmade creations. Artists compete in the following categories: Fine Arts/Graphics, Pottery, Textiles, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Photography, Wood, and Miscellaneous. So come out, and feast your eyes on incredible art or sit and relax by Simpson Plaza, listen to local musicians, watch ongoing performing arts, enjoy interactive art activities, and treat yourself to the food and spirits available at the variety of award-winning restaurants on site. “5th Annual Downtown Frisco StrEATS” – On Saturday, April 9th, the Main Street Merchants Association is hosting the 5th annual Downtown Frisco StrEATS event. This event will host more than 20 food trucks and attract more than 15,000 attendees in one afternoon. There will be live music from local and regional performers. The event will be located in the parking lot just behind the Chamber of Commerce building, south of Main St. and between 3rd and 4th streets. There will be approximately 16 vendor spaces available specifically for local artists and arts organizations. These spaces will be located at the entrance to the event on the corner of Main and 4th, next to the gazebo. The cost per 10’x10′ space is $100 ($50 for non-profit organizations). “2016 Collin College CougarRun 5K and Fun Run” – On Saturday, April 9th, the inaugural CougarRun K5 and Fun Run is presented by State Farm and The Pride at Collin College’s Preston Ridge Campus in Frisco. Starting at 8am, the event will raise funds for the Alumni Scholarship Fund at the Collin College Foundation. Collin alumni, donors, supporters, current students, faculty and staff, as well as community members are encouraged to bring their friends and families to join us for this fun, first-time event that will change the lives of deserving Collin College students. Event Registration: Early Bird Registration is $25 now through March 15; Regular Registration is $30 March 16-April 8. Participants may still register the day of the event; day-of-event registration is $35 per individual.
