“2016 Texas Regional Radio Music Awards” – Come and see your favorite Texas/Red Dirt music artists, radio and music industry professionals will be honored: Deryl Dodd, Mark McKinney, Prophets & Outlaws, Rich O’Toole, Kylie Frey, Aubrey Lynn England, Jamie Richards, Steve Helms, Randy Brown, and Sundance Head will be coming together for special live performances. “NIGHT OF IMPROV with Frisco Improv Players” – The Frisco Improv Players present a Night of Improv! Don’t miss this family-friendly, improvisational comedy troupe that specializes in game-based comedic performances, similar to those seen on the syndicated television show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Their fast-paced, interactive improv is popular with all age groups. “Driving Miss Daisy” – On Saturday, July 16th, tickets go on sale for the production of DRIVING MISS DAISY, A PULITZER PRIZE WINNING PLAY BY ALFRED UHRY. “SINGING ZOOLOGIST at the Frisco Public Library” – The Frisco Public Library will host singing zoologist, Lucas Miller, as part of the Monday Mindstretcher summer events for grades K-5 and their families. Event times are 9:30, 11:00, 2:30, 4:00, and 6:30, and will be held in the 1st floor Council Chambers. No ticket is required, however space is limited. “FREE Videogame/STEM Workshop” – From 1pm to 4pm, the National Videogame Museum (NVM), in collaboration with the National STEM Video Game Challenge and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, invite middle and high school students to attend a FREE video game design workshop at NVM this month. There’s ONLY 30 spots open to level up from video game player to video game designer! Workshop participants will:
- Complete hands-on, minds-on, physical game design exercises
- Design original video games and modify existing games
- Play-test each other’s games to provide feedback
- Learn how to enter the National STEM Video Game Challenge
Please note that this workshop is BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). A laptop computer capable of web browsing and running the latest version of Adobe Flash Player is required as students will be using the Gamestar Mechanic™ game-based learning tool. “Frisco City Council Meeting” – The Frisco City Council typically meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month inside the City Council Chamber at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. Citizens are welcome to attend the open meeting, which generally begins at 6:30 p.m. Citizens’ input is heard at approximately 7:30 p.m. Can’t join us at City Hall? ““CHALK TALK” SESSION IN FRISCO TO COVER CONCUSSIONS AND SAFETY” – On Saturday, July 23 at 6 p.m., right before students head back to school, football practice and other sports trainings, Sci-Tech Discovery Center has brought their ‘mind stretching fun’ to an important and informational free speaker series for families with “Chalk Talk.” The session on Saturday, July 23 concludes the series with a frank talk about concussions beginning at 6 p.m. Children registered will engage in STEM related, hands-on activities led by the Sci-Tech staff while the parents enjoy an interactive conversation including vital information for all parents, coaches and athletes, led by FOX4’s Sports Director Mike Doocy. This session is FREE, but SPACE IS LIMITED. Reserve your seats today!
“FRISCO’S GOT TALENT!” – Entry deadline on July 31st, hosted by the Frisco Youth Theatre. YouTube video submissions for live showcase. Frisco residents and FISD students are invited to enter a community-wide performing arts competition. This is an opportunity to showcase the amazing talent of Frisco students while recognizing their hard work and encouraging them to continue to develop their talent. Final performances to be held on August 27th and 28th.
“Dive-In Movies” – On Friday, August 5th, see “The Good Dinosaur” by floating in the pool and lazy river while you watch a movie under the stars at the Frisco Water Park. Friday night family fun can’t get better than this! Frisco Water Park at the FAC.

$8 per person; children under 2 are free, but must have a ticket for entry.
Under 2 tickets are limited and must be picked up at the Frisco Athletic Center. Water features will remain on until the movie starts at sunset. Concessions stand will be open.
