
We know you’re ready to get SPOOKY this weekend, but in addition to all the Halloween fun, we have a fun run, a plant workshop, a walking tour, and the Texas Legends Draft Party. So, add these events to all your ghoulish get-togethers going on and Happy Halloween, Frisco!

Halloween is upon us so dress up the kids, and the dog, and head out to Frisco Square for the annual Trick-or-Treat the Square. Many of the businesses in Frisco Square will be celebrating so have some fun in a safe environment. You’ll also have a chance to do some good and help keep people warm this winter that need it.

“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” – Performed by the Frisco Community Theatre at 8pm on Fridays & Saturdays and 2:30pm on Sundays from October 30th through November 15th in the Black Box Theater. “Upcoming Fall Workshops: Native and Adapted Plants” – Native plants provide pollen, nectar, food, shelter, and nesting sites for birds and beneficial insects while requiring less water, fertilizer, and little to no pesticides. Bring your lunch and join us to hear Dr. Dotty Woodson as she returns to Frisco to discuss the benefits of incorporating native plants into your landscape. “Super Friday Fun Night” – Kids night out at the FAC! Start off in the Zone playing air hockey, billiards, and foosball during check-in. Next, head to the Indoor Aquatic Center for swimming in the lazy river, play pool, and slide down ‘Big Blue’ (must be 48′ to ride). End the night with a pizza dinner and fun, active and cooperative games in our studios and gym. Bring your friends and join us for Super Friday Fun Nights! Check-in at the Zone.

“5th Annual Trick or Treat the Square” – Frisco Square is also proud to announce the 5th Annual Trick or Treat the Square, which will be held on Saturday, October 31st, 2015 from 1-4 P.M. Ages 12 and under are invited to come dressed in their best costumes and trick or treat at some of their favorite restaurants, shops, and businesses in Frisco Square! There will be a petting zoo, face painters, balloon twisters, horse-drawn wagon rides, 40’ inflatable obstacle course, carnival games, a HOWL-oween Pooch Parade, Pet Costume Contest and Pet Adoption sponsored by Mazie’s Mission and more! Registration for this year’s HOWL-oween Pet Parade & Costume Contest will be open on September 25, 2015 online at or you may register your pet onsite October 31st at the Mazie’s Mission tent on Simpson Plaza from 1-2pm.
“Museum of the American Railroad Walking Tour” – At 11am and again at 1pm, Frisco Heritage Museum—6455 Page Street. Guided walking tours of the Museum of the American Railroad’s new facilities have been extended through December 5. Due to the strong response throughout the summer, tours of a portion of the historic rolling stock collection will take place each Thursday at 1pm and each Saturday at 11am & 1pm from September 3 through December 5, 2015.
“2015 Texas Legends Draft Party” – Experience the “live war room,” where Donnie Nelson and Nick Van Exel will draft this year’s Legends roster. Come dressed in your Halloween costume, for a chance to win the best costume award. Meet the Legends dancers and lots more! 1pm in Strikz Entertainment, 8789 Lebanon Road.

“Frisco City Council Meeting” – The Frisco City Council typically meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month inside the City Council Chamber at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. Citizens are welcome to attend the open meeting, which generally begins at 6:30 p.m. Citizens’ input is heard at approximately 7:30 p.m.

“Knowledge is Power Series Continues with Discussion of Refugees, War” – The Knowledge is Power lecture series continues with a presentation titled “The Human Cost of War: Global Responsibility and Refugees,” from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Preston Ridge Campus Conference Center, 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco. Saturday, November 7 – “Frisco Community Parade 2015” – Starting at 10am, attractions of the parade include Frisco fire and police vehicles, the Frisco fire clowns, the homecoming/forthcoming royalty of high schools, team mascots, representatives of Frisco’s professional sports teams, and floats and marchers from various civic and youth groups. This year’s winning float entries will have scholarships donated in their names. School spirit themes are also encouraged. There is no registration fee for schools. The Frisco Community Parade is a collaboration between the City of Frisco, Frisco Independent School District, Frisco Chamber of Commerce, Frisco Veterans Advisory Committee, Frisco Style, School of Rock and 97.5 KLAK Radio. The Frisco Community Parade Committee is chaired by Mayor Maher Maso and made up of several community volunteers.
Sunday, November 8 – “From Classics to Jazz“ – Performance by Odysseus Chamber Orchestra at 3pm in the First United Methodist Church. Under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Jason Lim, the award-winning Odysseus Chamber Orchestra performs both classical symphonies and contemporary, innovative works. Odysseus features professional musicians from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The season opener promises an evening of enchantment. The program features the lyrical sounds of Russian composer Anton Arensky, the aristocratic Concertino in A minor by Bach, the smooth nature of Gershwin’s Lullaby, and the bluesy, jazzy Signs of Life by American composer Russell Peck.
