“ALADDIN KIDS” – When the street urchin, Aladdin, vies for the attention of the beautiful princess, Jasmine, he uses a genie’s magic power to become a prince in order to marry her. Iago, Jafar, the Genie and more are here in Disney’s Aladdin KIDS, a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem and the power of love. Frisco Youth Theatre performs in the Black Box Theater, Frisco Discovery Center. July 28th – 30th. Tickets are $10-$12.

“Frisco City Council Meeting” – The Frisco City Council typically meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month inside the City Council Chamber at the George A. “Unveiling of CLOUDSCAPE” – On Friday August 12th, join us and the City of Frisco Public Art Collection for the unveiling of CLOUDSCAPE. CLOUDSCAPE is the newest work of Public Art coming soon to Harold Bacchus Community Park. 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 Dallas Parkway, Frisco 75034. The unveiling ceremony will be followed by a presentation by the artist Joshua Weiner. Refreshments will be served, but you must RSVP to rdeo@friscotexas.gov
“FRISCO’S GOT TALENT!” – Entry deadline on July 31st, hosted by the Frisco Youth Theatre. YouTube video submissions for live showcase. Frisco residents and FISD students are invited to enter a community-wide performing arts competition. This is an opportunity to showcase the amazing talent of Frisco students while recognizing their hard work and encouraging them to continue to develop their talent. Final performances to be held on August 27th and 28th.
“Dive-In Movies” – On Friday, August 5th, see “The Good Dinosaur” by floating in the pool and lazy river while you watch a movie under the stars at the Frisco Water Park. Friday night family fun can’t get better than this! Frisco Water Park at the FAC. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 20, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. Gate opens at 8:00 p.m.
$8 per person; children under 2 are free, but must have a ticket for entry.
Under 2 tickets are limited and must be picked up at the Frisco Athletic Center. Water features will remain on until the movie starts at sunset and the concessions stand will be open.
“Driving Miss Daisy” – Tickets are on sale for the production of DRIVING MISS DAISY, A PULITZER PRIZE WINNING PLAY BY ALFRED UHRY. Play will be performed August 5th through the 21st. Directed by Evelyn Davis. Starring Fradonna Griffin, Jerry Barrax and Shane Beeson. Performed in the Black Box Theater in the Frisco Discovery Center. A warm hearted, humorous and affecting study of the unlikely relationship between an aging. crotchety white Southern lady and a proud, soft spoken black man.
“Call for Artists: ART IN THE ATRIUM 13” – Twice a year, the City of Frisco’s Public Art Program makes calls for artists’ work to be included in Art in the Atrium. This exhibition series features 2-Dimensional artwork from North Texas artists. Artwork is exhibited throughout the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center for approximately six months. This is an ideal opportunity for artists eager to share their works of art and vision with the community.
Submissions are open for Art in the Atrium 13, a biannual exhibition of 2-Dimensional art open to artists of the North Texas Region and submissions will close Monday, August 22, 2016.. Submit up to 5 images of current 2-Dimensional work (created within the past 18 months). Exhibition will be on view in Frisco’s George A. Purefoy Municipal Center with an exclusive artist reception and opening of the exhibit on Monday, October 17th. Easy online art submission process!
