“First Fridays MakerSpace presented by Raytheon” – In Sci-Tech Discovery Center, attendees can enjoy two workshops on how to use a laser cutter and creating a custom-designed lamp from wood, iron or sheet metal. Workshops are suitable for ages 10 and up.
Session 1: Laser Cutter; 6 p.m.; Cost: $8/person
Session 2: Lamp Making; 7 p.m.; Cost: $8/person

“BROADWAY BOUND” – Theatre Frisco (Formerly Frisco Community Theatre) presents Broadway Bound. Following Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues, this is the poignant and funny conclusion of Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical Eugene trilogy. Eugene and his brother Stanley are trying to break into the world of professional comedy writing, while coping with their parents’ messy and gut-wrenching split. When their material is broadcast on the radio for the first time, the rest of the family is upset to hear a comedic rendition of their own trials and tribulations. How will Eugene and his brother balance their loyalties to their family and to their art? Theatre Frisco in the Black Box Theater, 8004 Dallas Pkwy. “STEM Stations in Frisco Public Library” – Come-and-go activities and experiments for the whole family. Facilitated by volunTEENs on the Frisco Advisory Board. Free, no ticket required. Come-and-go activities featuring STEM topics from 3pm to 4pm in 2nd floor, Children’s Program Room.

“Tech Teens at Frisco Public Library” – Hands-on tech exploration! Teens who attend Tech Teens help plan future activities – have fun while you help us plan! Explore a tech topic with a featured activity. The topic & focused activity change each meeting. Tinker with tech on your own or with a friend. Self-guided opportunities are available at each meeting. Meet other teens that have the same interests as you! You can share your knowledge and learn from your peers. Bring your tech questions! Having trouble with a 3D design or want someone to take a look at your graphic design portfolio? This is the group to come become a part of. Drop by for 15 minutes or an hour – it’s up to you! No registration required! From 6pm to 7pm, in 1st floor, Teen Room, come to any meeting without signing up. Technology will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own laptop or tablet for the focused activity.

“Ultimate Picture Book Sketch-Off” – It’s the battle of the marker! Who will win? Meets in 1st floor City Council Chambers. For all ages. 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. 2-3pm.

“IMPROV 101” – Students in grades 4-8 are invited to enhance improv skills with Bob Zak of Frisco Improv Players. There will be two classes: 3:00-3:45 and 4:00-4:45 pm. Tickets are available at the Library on the 2nd floor 30 minutes before each class. Student must be present to get a ticket. Please attend only one class. Meets in the 2nd floor Children’s Program Room, Frisco Public Library, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. 3pm to 3:45pm, 4pm to 4:45pm.

Wednesday, March 8

“Character Camp at Frisco Public Library” – Celebrate your favorite book characters with come-and-go writing exercises, crafts, and experiments! Facilitated by volunTEENs on the Frisco Advisory Board. From 3pm to 4pm on 2nd floor, Children’s Program Room. Free, no ticket required. Come-and-go activities featuring popular characters.

“Family Origami Night” – From 7pm to 8:30pm, on the 4th floor, McCallum Room in Frisco Public Library. Come join us for an introduction to the art of origami! All supplies are provided.
