It’s not a word often associated with the “burbs,” but as Frisco grows and the city continues to welcome new residents from all over the country, the culture of Frisco also matures.
An important part of developing that culture is having a place to gather, explore, and highlight Frisco’s artistic talent, as well as expose ourselves to new and mind-stretching things. That place is the Frisco Discovery Center, home to the Black Box Community Theater, Frisco Art Gallery, Sci-Tech Discovery Center, and Special Events Center.
Whether you’re searching for something different to do, or want to get involved in arts and sciences activities, look no further than the Frisco Discovery Center for a variety of family friendly options.
The Frisco Art Gallery
The Main Gallery is in the main hall of the center and has brightly colored walls, high ceilings, contemporary décor, and an Arakawa Rail and Cable system that allows for 186 linear feet of hanging space.
The Reception Gallery gallery, just off the main hall, is 855 square feet, and is a more intimate exhibition space.
The Frisco Art Gallery often features local artists but exhibits also include artwork and sculpture from around the world. Exhibits rotate regularly so there is always something new to explore.
The Frisco Art Gallery is also home to the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco. Both the Main and Reception Galleries are free and open to the public.
