Frisco CrossFit – Get Ready To Get Fit

When you decide that your workout routine (or lack thereof) just isn’t cutting it anymore, I challenge you to try CrossFit.  Located on the Northbound side of the Dallas North Tollway between Main and Eldorado, Frisco CrossFit has a tagline that says “Welcome to a community of people who have decided that easy will no longer suffice,” and the tone is set.

The facility looks rough on the inside, but this is quite deceiving as it is state-of-the-art, though not in the way of your typical big-box gyms.  No easy-peasy ellipticals, no doing most of the work for you weight machines, no spa, not even any extra towels.  Owner Cory Lignell and his wife, Kim, teach members to use their body and real weights to create natural movement.  They only have machines that mimic functional movement, and none of those that don’t contribute to overall health and a lean, conditioned body.

So, what is CrossFit exactly?  The program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience.  CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.  They’ve used the same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts.  They scale with load and intensity, not by changing programs.

Cory says, “We welcome you to take a look around our box (what CrossFit franchises are called) and our equipment.  You won’t see full length mirrors, but you’ll see results in your own mirror and in the fit of your clothes when you make the move to functional fitness.”
